THURSDAY 14TH JUNE 2012 Well I must say it is nice to be able to focus back on the wonderful achievements and eforts being made by our students. The government have seen sense and responded to the overwhelming outpour of concern from parents and teachers across the country - Well Done to us.

Today we welcome students from Napier Intermediate in a newly formed exchange which will see us also visiting them next term for a cultural exchange. We will get photos on our Facebook page and results will be in next weeks newsletter.

Next term I will be of on a Ministry of Education sabatical. Over the term I am going to be looking at leading programmes in IT and Media in the US and London. This will be a great chance for me to take some time and reflect on where we want Ross Intermediate to go in 2013 and beyond. In my absence Zayne Templeton and Geovanna Paine will be leading the school and Team Leaders will also be assisting with more responsibility. I wish the team well in my absence. Never fear I am sure I will still pop up in the odd assembly and keep updates coming through on Facebook.

SAMOA EXPERIENCE At our latest Board Meeting we decided that there was not the interest in this trip to justify the time that staf would need to spend in preparation for it. We appreciate that this was going to be an exciting opportunity but feel that we need to focus our attention on the core responsibilities of the school. INTER-SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY IN This trip will therefore not be proceeding. Charlotte Williams STOLEN PROPERTY! finished 2nd in the girls Year 7 event Stolen from Ross intermediate on Thursday 7th Daina Martin June blue MPG scooter with purple front wheel with finished 6th in the girls Year 8 event the name Lincoln on it please return to ofce no questions asked$50 dollar reward for return of scooter or information that results in return of scooter. We are allowing students to wear an extra Jacket during Morning Break and Lunchtimes when the weather is at it’s worst. These jackets must be plain and black - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you want them to have a jacket in the cold weather then make sure it is black. A logo on it is fine.

NORTHERN CLUSTER PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL Next Wednesday our school performs at this festival at the Regent Theatre. They will be sharing a music and dance number. There is an opportunity for students to attend an afternoon performance. If your child is selected for this, a notice will come home early next week. There is no charge for this performance. Students taking part in the festival will receive a notice tomorrow regarding this. ACHIEVEMENTS
