Methods and definitions The index of production in construction approximates the evolution of the volume of production within the sector, broken down into building construction and civil engineering. Seasonally adjusted euro area and EU series are calculated by aggregating the seasonally adjusted national data. Eurostat carries out the seasonal adjustment of the data for those countries that do not adjust their data for seasonal effects. The monthly index as presented in this News Release is calculated only on the basis of the data of those countries reporting monthly data. Missing observations from Member States for recent months are estimated for the calculation of the euro area and the EU aggregates. Revisions and timetable Data of previous months have been revised compared with those issued in News Release 72/2021 of 17 June 2021. The monthly percentage change for April 2021 was revised from -2.2% to -0.4% in the euro area and from -1.6% to -0.1% in the EU. The annual percentage change has been revised from +42.3% to +45.2% in the euro area and from +32.7% to +35.4% in the EU.
