They are used in general and special-topic publications, in press- releases in the Swiss Statistics portal and in atlases to address a wide range of statistical questions associated with topology and geography. Complex statistical matter is visually depicted so that it is clear and understandable for a wide audience. Under the name of ThemaKart, the SFSO has maintained a compe- tence centre for cartographic services and information within the Office and for its clients since 1989. What we offer: Consultation and training with regard to spatial visualisation, particularly statistical maps and atlases. Production of statistical atlases Provision of individual thematic maps and cartographic applications in all media Management of the FSO regional database Provision of interactive regional and country portraits Training of junior staff in geomatics, specialising in cartography ThemaKart is part of the Dissemination and Publications Section, Resources and International Affairs Division. Individual maps Print Long-lasting, high resolution thematic maps for all print publications and PDF publications. They summarise the most important spatial statistical findings about the population, society, government, eco- nomy and environment. Most topics are shown at commune, district and canton level. Ana- lytical and regional-political divisions are also used for various maps. All maps are in colour and are available in the three official languages plus English.
