The ultimate traditional Swiss festival The Swiss festival of Unspunnen is a traditional celebration of Swiss mountain life and was first held in 1805. However, it only became a regular event in 1946 and has since taken place every 12 years. 2017 is one of the lucky years.

Nostalgia with a view

The Brienz Rothorn railway (BRB) was commis- sioned in 1892, just 15 months after construction work began. At the time, it was the highest steam-powered rack railway in the world. The fascination with this railway remains to this day.
