CCB (Asia) Title-sponsors “Lifeline Express CCB (Asia) Charity Run/Walk” for the 7th Consecutive Year Raising Funds for "Lifeline Express Eye-train Hospital" for Helping Underprivileged Cataract Patients in Regaining Eyesight

Hong Kong – September 20, 2017 – China Construction Bank (Asia) [“CCB (Asia)”] has been title- sponsoring “Lifeline Express CCB (Asia) Charity Run/Walk” organized by Lifeline Express and co- organized by the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club for 7 consecutive years. The event will be held at 9am on Nov 25, 2017 (Sat) in the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club.

The press conference was held at CCB Tower this afternoon. Mr Jiang Xianzhou, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CCB (Asia), said, “CCB (Asia) was originated from "The Bank of Canton", the first bank in established by Chinese in 1912. This year is the 105th anniversary of CCB (Asia). By sponsoring and supporting different large scale community activities, CCB (Asia) takes real actions contributing to society and actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibility over the past century. CCB (Asia) calls for all your support to participate in this meaningful charity activity, raising funds for patients in need to provide them with eyesight restoring treatments. The activity also energizes families of the beneficiaries, passing on love and hope to people.”

Mr. Fong Ching, Chairman of Lifeline Express Hong Kong Foundation, mentioned, “Starting from 1997, Lifeline Express Hospital Eye-train has been serving the community for 20 years. With the ardent support from all walks of life, the Eye-train has helped over 180,000 underprivileged cataract patients to regain eyesight. “Lifeline Express CCB (Asia) Charity Run/Walk” is one of the important annual fund raising activities for the Eye-train. With the faith of “Love starts with small steps, every step is full of hope”, we believe that participants’ positive energy in exercises would transform to love which helps patients in need. We also hope that this activity would strengthen the cohesion among families, friends and colleagues and would become an activity in which all of them look forward to every year.”

Ms Guo Jingjing and Mr Li Xiaopeng, Olympic Gold Medalists and ambassadors of the charity run/walk, shared their parenting experience in the press conference. Participating in various charity activities, the two ambassadors have become role models for their children on sharing love with others. Mr Li Xiaopeng mentioned that doing exercises can bring health to participants and joining this charity run/walk can also provide underprivileged cataract patients with the opportunity to regain eyesight. He called for public support on this meaningful activity.

Trophy would be presented to the charity walk team with the largest number of participating members. To show its full support to staff taking part in the charity run/walk, CCB (Asia) continues to present “CCB (Asia) Cup” to the most outstanding staff runners in Men’s Group and Women’s Group.
