In the second part, appears the standings of the first three places at all events of these competitions followed by several classifications which are listed either by the number of titles or medals by divers or National Federation. It should be made clear that these standings only have a historical aim and not any sportive signification because the comparison between the achievements of swimmers of different generations is always unfair for several reasons: 1. The period of time. The Olympic Games were not organised in 1916, 1940 and 1944. 2. The evolution of the programme; the number of events keeps increasing. 3. Political boycotts did not give the opportunity to some divers to participate, i.e. in 1956, 1980, 1984. This edition may contain errors; we hope that this will be solved for next editions with the assistance of our readers. 4 OLYMPIC GAMES 1904-2016 Since 1896, the Olympic Games have been organised 28 times. The next edition will take place in Tokyo (JPN) in 2020 (July 24, 2020 – August 9).
