THE GOOD FOOD CLUB Since most of the memb ers of the Cha pter must trav el on business from tim e to time throughout 1 ew Mexico and the neigh bou rin g states, and since they must frequ ently tak e meal s in unf amiliar towns or cities, and since these meals more often than not con tribute little either toward good health or goo d hum or - the editor s felt that something should be don e to im prove this situation. We wish, therefore, to publish the nam es of res taurants in our ar ea which we feel ar e above average, or perhaps just non-poisonous. Mr. John W. McHu gh, A..A., that discriminating go ur met, will und ertake the task of assembling the data necessar y for publica tion. Mr. McHugh , our sometimes " Food Editor", asks those memb ers interested in good food to writ e him giving their recomm endations of goo d places to eat. Considerations of the quality and price of food, the cleanliness of the place, the courtesy of the staff, the quality of the service-and whether the place has a blaring juke box, sho uld be taken into acco unt. \Vhen the Food Editor receives a recommend ati on, he will writ e to two other memb ers asking them to visit the place and report their imp ress ions. If their repor ts ag ree with the origina l one, then it will be published. Needless to say, all this must be done without the knowledge of the proprietor else the " typica l" mea ls What's the may turn out to be far from typical. No one, of course, is authorized to promise any proprietor that his restau rant will be recomm ended by this magazine, and no best method for one should solicit free meals or other compensation in exchange for his recommend ati on. cooling and heating?
