Appearance of shops, banks, estate, agents, shop window displays. Condition of paved areas and parking areas.

Section 1 The general appearance of the shops was very good but noone seemed to have noticed the state of the unused door of HSBC which looked neglected and dirty. ln general the window displays are attractive and eye catching.

Section 2 - Railway Station, Bus Shelters, Telephone Kiosks, Public Toilets, Exterior of Schools, Notice Boards, Public Car Parks.

Section 2 The bus shelters were well maintained though there was litter in the one opposite the Community Centre. The exterior of the schools was a credit to those using them. The public car parks were well maintained and we liked the overspill of flowering plants from a neighbouring garden round the edge of the disabled area in the Rising Sun car park. lr The notice boards were mixed - one was empty and another overloaded. The Rotary Club board on the Rising Sun was exemplary.

Section 3 Public Houses, Restaurants, Cafes (including parking areas), Garden Centres, I lndustrial Units, Town Halls, Government Offices. I Libraries, Medical Centres, Villages Halls, Other Meeting Places and surroundings.

Section 3 The places to eat in Tarporley were all well maintained and the industrial areas likewise. The library is interesting as the approach is through the school playground where there is inevitably student's debris but this was minimal so not many points were lost for that. The immediate surrounds of the Medical Centre were well maintained but the raised bank on the pavement just in front under the trees looked uncared for with dead branches and long term litter. It was so heartening to see that the flower bank round the Community Centre was free of weeds on our second visit - it is so attractive. There were cigarette ends and general litter in and around the teen shelter. Section4.Sports&SocialClubs,WarMemorials,othermernorim churchyards, chapels, Gemeteries, Public Parks, Gardens, children's playAreas.

Section 4 The Bolvls Club was immaculate as was the Scout Hut and the Tennis Club was neat though there was litter at the entrance. we realise the British Legion is closed so didn't mark it. The historical artefacts were let down by the well with weeds round the front and overgrown at the back making reading the information difficult. The park and children's play area were well kept and well used with a minimum of litter and apparently no dog fouling.

Section 5 Tidiness of Verges, Hedges, Traffic lslands. Floral Displays, Allotments. Ponds, Streams and Canals.

Section 5 The hedges round the edges of the village seem to be an inevitable collecting point for scraps of litter but this was minimal. The floral displays on the pubs in the High street are worthy of special mention - well kept and tended. The allotments make an interesting walk through to the Bowls Club. Most are well maintained.

Section 6 Lifterbins and Litter, Graffiti, Chewing Gum, Dog Fouling, Weeds.

Section 6 There are plenty of litter bins carefully placed where they are most likely to be used. One litter black spot was the entrance to the field opposite the Health Centre though we noticed the worst of the litter had been removed before our second visit. Maybe a bin would be used if it was put up there ? We found the only dog fouling round that area too.
