Villa Tevere: Origen Y Primera Historia De La Sede Central Del Opus
Orígenes y primera historia de Villa Tevere. Los edificios de la sede central del Opus Dei en Roma (1947-1960) AlFREDO MÉNDIZ Abstract: La sede central del Opus Dei, Villa Tevere, situada en la zona norte de Roma, fue adquirida en 1947 . Su dueño anterior, Mario Gori Mazzoleni, había construido el edificio principal de la finca entre 1928 y 1931 y lo había alquilado en 1936 a la Legación de Hungría ante la Santa Sede . La plena ocupación del inmueble solo fue posible tras dos años de negociaciones ‒no siempre distendidas‒ con la burocracia del nuevo estado húngaro nacido de la guerra, que deseaba seguir usándolo . En 1949 comenzaron los trabajos de adaptación de la finca, paralelos a la urbanización de esa zona de Roma y a la primera expansión internacional del Opus Dei . The Da Vinci Code Phenomenon: a Brief Overview and Response
THE DA VINCI CODE PHENOMENON: A BRIEF OVERVIEW AND RESPONSE J.B. HIXSON Assistant Academic Dean College of Biblical Studies Houston, Texas I. INTRODUCTION Dan Brown’s book, The Da Vinci Code,1 gives a fictional account of a Harvard researcher named Robert Langdon. In the story, Langdon is called upon to analyze Leonardo Da Vinci’s work and decode its hidden mysteries. What he uncovers is an elaborate scheme of secret societies, religious conspiracies, and centuries old cover ups. His investigation does not sit well with the religious establishment and he quickly becomes a marked man. So goes the plot of this entertaining and influential novel. Dan Brown’s novel has generated no shortage of analysis. La Primera Romería De San Josemaría a La Virgen De Torreciudad
LA PRIMERA ROMERÍA DE SAN JOSEMARÍA A LA VIRGEN DE TORRECIUDAD CONSTANTINO ÁNCHEL En 1984, en el noveno centenario de la Virgen de Torreciudad, el histo- riador José Orlandis rememoraba el acontecer de los siglos pasados, testigos de la devoción a santa María en este lugar altoaragonés; y escribía: “Esta his- toria quedaría incompleta si nos limitásemos a evocar tiempos pretéritos, por viejos y venerables que sean. La historia de Torreciudad llega viva hasta nues- tros días, y ha de recoger un capítulo novísimo, digno coronamiento de tan- tos siglos de fe cristiana y de piedad mariana. Este capítulo se halla íntimamente ligado a la vida del Fundador del Opus Dei, y en él se inscribe la construcción del nuevo Santuario”1. Se refiere Orlandis a la primera visita a Nuestra Señora de Torreciudad de san Josemaría, quien años después lo recordaba así: “Me trajeron mis padres. Mi madre me llevó en sus brazos a la Virgen. Iba sentada en la caballería, no a la inglesa, sino en silla, como enton- ces se hacía, y pasó miedo porque era un camino muy malo”2. De las palabras transcritas se desprende que sus recuerdos no provienen de su propia memo- ria, sino de los relatos oídos tantas veces a su madre y a los suyos. Es, por tanto, lógico que no dé más referencias para datar con una cierta precisión la fecha de su primera visita a la ermita de Torreciudad. El objeto de este traba- jo será aportar elementos que permitan encuadrar, con una probabilidad fun- dada, el tiempo y el momento de la citada romería a la casa de la Virgen. -

Josemaría Escrivá and controversy, both within the Catholic Church and in the worldwide press.[8][9] Several independent jour- nalists who have investigated the history of Opus Dei, among them Vatican analyst John L. Brown, Advisor Montana Miller ii ABSTRACT Dr. Jeffrey A. Brown, Advisor Since its publication in 2003, Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code has dominated bestseller lists, becoming one of the most widely read, discussed, and analyzed books in recent history. Although The Da Vinci Code offers a radical view of history that argues for the equality and power of women, at the end of the novel nothing has actually changed. In light of this, my thesis is a feminist analysis of the female protagonist, Sophie Neveu, in both Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code and Ron Howard’s 2006 film adaptation. In analyzing these texts, I ultimately conclude that the lack of actual female empowerment is the result of the conventions of the classical mystery/detective genre. John Cawelti’s theories of genre and formula and Laura Mulvey’s psychoanalytical theories of gender and the gaze form the theoretical base for my observations. These theories, along with those relating to gender and the detective genre, are instrumental in my close readings of Dan Brown’s novel and Ron Howard’s film adaptation. In examining The Da Vinci Code in terms of its popular culture effects and popularity, I situate the text within the historical locations of postmodernism and a post- 9/11 United States. -

Recibí el bautismo de manos de otro de mis tíos sacerdotes, el canónigo ar- cediano Carlos Albás Blanc, a quien debo mi nombre y del que me siento orgulloso. El primer recuerdo corresponde al período de residencia en la po- blación pirenaica de Jaca, donde también inicié a los cinco años los estudios.
