Angel of Hope Bricks $125 Remember a child of any age by purchasing an engraved brick, to be installed at the foot of of Hope statue at the Maple Grove Arboretum. Orders received by September 1, 2021 will be installed and dedicated this fall.

VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK OF MAPLE GROVE Salute our armed forces by sponsoring an engraved paver at the Veterans Memorial, located at Central Park of Maple Grove. Three paver sizes are available. Pavers ordered prior to August 15, 2021 will be installed this fall.

ANGEL OF HOPE CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL Monday, December 6, 2021, 7 p.m. Maple Grove Arboretum, 9400 Fernbrook Lane, Maple Grove

Candles will be provided, bring a white flower to leave next to the statue. The Angel of Hope has become a place of peaceful remembrance for many that have experienced the loss of a loved one. The Candlelight Memorial is for the entire community and will consist of a short meaningful program at the Angel of Hope Statue.

REACH FOR RESOURCES ADAPTIVE RECREATION The adaptive recreation program is a cooperative effort of REACH for Resources and the cities of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Chanhassen, Chaska, Waconia and St. Louis Park. REACH is an agency which serves individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in Western Hennepin County. Services include adaptive recreation, independent living support and . SNOWPLOW SAM Ages 3 – 5 Snowplow Sam teaches the Snowplow Sam 1 – 4 levels. It is designed to help young participants develop the coordination and strength necessary to maneuver on skates. JUMP TO NEW HEIGHTS Off-Ice Harness Class Participants who have passed Basic 6 Jump To New Heights is an off-ice harness class that teaches proper jump rotation utilizing the off-ice harness. This 15 minute class is limited to 3 participants and will offer off-ice harness instruction and off-ice jump technique instruction. MUSIC FOR EVERYONE Offering private music lessons and group activities for students of all ages, from pre-schoolers to adults. The cities of Maple Grove, PRIVATE LESSONS, BEGINNER-ADV. LESSONS Brooklyn Park and Plymouth have formed this music consortium to present quality music instruction to their residents. PRIVATE LESSONS PRIVATE Ages 7 – Adult 404201-01 The private music lesson program is ultimately designed to be a 12 month continuum for the entire year. Registration fees are taken on a quarterly basis. New students can enroll for private PRIVATE GUITAR lessons at any time during the quarter, as space allows and fees 404201-02 can be pro-rated. MAPLE GROVE YOUTH CHEERLEADING Grades K – 8 This is a competitive cheer program which includes high level instruction in tumbling, dance, stunting, cheer and performance skills. Choreography combining all of these facets will be taught to create a competitive routine. Three competitive team levels will be offered. Novice is offered to beginning level athletes and athletes in grades K-3. Elementary will be offered to athletes with demonstrated skills in gymnastics, stunting, and competitive cheer or dance and athletes in grades 2-6. Middle School will be offered to athletes with a high level of previous skills shown and athletes in grades 5-8. BABYSITTING WORKSHOP Ages 11 - 15 Current and future babysitters learn the best ways to be safe and keep the children in their care safe. Virtual 3d Printing and CAD New Projects this semester! This 3D printing camp takes students through the 3D printing process from start to finish. MAPLE MAZE - INDOOR PLAYGROUND It's an amazing fun time for children ages 12 and under. Start on the first level by climbing the rock wall, hopping on the pogo stick or enter the tree house and climb to the second level. Four slides entice children to keep crawling back up to discover new routes to slide down, long tubes to push through and hover rings to crawl over. The toddler area for three years and under lets them crawl into a lion's mouth and back down a slide to venture on to a molded alligator, hippo and more. Miscellaneous: Lessons missed by students will not be made up. You can purchase a cap for $2.00 and goggles for $6.00 from the Pool Supervisor. The American Red Cross offers six comprehensive course levels that teach anyone 18 months through adult to be safe in, on and around water. The prerequisite for each level is the successful demonstration of the skills from the preceding level, except for Level 1, which has no prerequisite. Each level of Learn to Swim includes training in basic water safety and in addition to swim skills. Exit skills are a combination of skills learned. FALL OPEN SWIM HOURS STARTING BLENDED LEARNING LIFEGUARD TRAINING SEPTEMBER 27 -See details pg. 62 The American Red Cross course provides entry-level lifeguards with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond • Monday-Thursday: 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and • Friday: 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses. • Saturday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Prerequisites • Sunday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. 1. Must be 15 years old. 2. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath Waterslide: control and rhythmic breathing using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both only. Swim • Friday evening: 5 - 8 p.m. goggles may be used. • Saturday-Sunday: noon - 6 p.m. 3. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. 4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
