With Christmas now a distant memory, it’s that time of year again where we start looking forward to a new cricket season and laying plans for Ipplepen Cricket Club in 2019.
As you hopefully know, 2018 was a very successful year both on and off the pitch. At senior level, our 2nd XI gained promotion to the ‘D West’ Division whilst both 1st and 3rd teams consolidated their positions in B Division and G West Division respectively. At junior level, we saw playing membership rise to around 150 boys and girls including our new All Stars group for children aged 5 to 7. Our Under 11 boys team won the South Devon Youth League whilst our Under 11 girls were crowned county champions. Over the current winter, we have nearly 40 players involved in training with Devon cricket at either County or Development level.
Looking to the year ahead, we will be aiming to sustain our position as one of the largest community cricket clubs in the County with 3 adult mens teams playing the Devon Cricket League and 7 junior hardball teams in the South Devon Youth League. Our other primary focus for 2019 is the development of womens cricket and we are very proud to be entering the ECB womens T20 club competition for the first time as well as arranging womens fixtures in both hardball and softball format.
Running the club continues to be time-consuming and we remain grateful to numerous volunteers who give up their time to take on a range of tasks without recompense – from cutting and rolling wickets to working behind the bar, painting doors, handling administration and coaching junior players.
At the recent AGM, it was agreed that for a 4th successive year the membership fees for all players at the cricket club will be frozen at their current level. Our research indicates that our fees are amongst the lowest in the area for both adults and juniors, and it remains central to our philosophy that we try to make involvement in the club as affordable as possible for all sectors of the community.
However, the costs of operating the club remain high and once again we are looking for support through sponsorship and donations to help with a ‘wish list’ of specific items we are hoping to fund. In most cases, these items/projects may only be funded if we can raise additional income over and above the membership fees we collect.
• Renovation of clubhouse including changing rooms, toilets and showers • Purchase of new specialist wicket mower • Improvements to outdoor social areas including additional seating and tables • New perimeter fences around part of the ground

We are offering 3 levels of ‘off the shelf’ sponsorship in 2019, as well as the opportunity to create a bespoke package to meet your interest and/or budget. We are open to offers of sponsorship ‘in kind’ as well as those outlined below.
SCOREBOARD SPONSORSHIP £400
Our new, electronic scoreboard was installed in 2018 and is fully visible around the ground, including from the main entrance, clubhouse and pitch. Scoreboard sponsors will have their advertising board (supplied by you) located above/below the scoreboard offering ‘prime position’ throughout the season.
GROUND SPONSORSHIP £250
Your advertising board will be located around the main entrance to the ground offering exposure to the thousands of people who visit Moor Road each season.
1st XI MATCH SPONSORSHIP £50
For each of the 9 home games played by our 1st XI in the Devon Cricket League, your business name will be listed as players and spectators enter the ground.
All sponsors will also have names, logos and website links included on our own club website and will receive publicity via the club’s social media channels and press releases.
