    Initial Phase of the Scott River Watershed Council STRATEGIC ACTION PLAN October 2005 Update Fiscal Administrator: Siskiyou Resource Conservation District P.O. Box 268 Etna, CA 96027 ABSTRACT and ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS The Scott River Watershed Council (SRWC) has developed this plan for the Scott River watershed for the purpose of cooperatively establishing a common strategy for restoration and management actions. Thus, the Scott River Watershed Strategic Action Plan (SAP) will form the basis for setting priorities for future projects and practices to be supported by the SRWC, the communities within the watershed, and the many funding sources. The SRWC is supported in its current efforts to develop a comprehensive watershed restoration plan through funding provided by the Klamath River Basin Fisheries Task Force (KRBFTF), California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), and the Cantara Trustee Council (CTC). Included in the SAP are identified goals, priorities, and strategic actions that will be used to develop projects and studies. Oversight of the planning process is the responsibility of the SRWC. The SRWC provides a multi-interest effort to cooperatively seek solutions, to help manage local resources, and to solve related problems. The primary role is to inform the community on resource issues, to aid in resource management, and to recommend to the Siskiyou Resource Conservation District (RCD) prioritized project opportunities in the Scott River Watershed for funding and implementation. The SAP has been organized using topical sections that describe the various components of the watershed. The abstract will provide a brief description of each of these sections.

    Board of Education Resolution WHEREAS, the Scott Valley School District Board of Trustees represents the public’s interest in creating knowledgeable, healthy, socially responsible citizens in the global community; and WHEREAS, the Scott Valley School District Board of Trustees and administration promote a healthy learning environment by defining a student athletic code of conduct which outlines positive expectations for coaches, parents, and student‐athletes based on common values, shared goals, and agreed upon principles; and WHEREAS, members of the Scott Valley School District Board of Trustees and administration have spent one year dialoguing with and collecting information from students, parents, community members, coaches, and local and national health education experts on the role and substance of an effective student athletic code of conduct; and WHEREAS, as a result of these conversations, the following priorities and opportunities for strengthening the current Lakeview School District Student Athletic Code of Conduct were identified: Focus on student and parent education, Provide opportunities for students to be responsible and learn from their mistakes, Increase parent involvement in remediation restorative process, Create a multifaceted approach that will impact the largest number of students, Empower community members to help support efforts; and WHEREAS, the American Athletic Institute philosophy for the review and revisions of a student code of conduct speaks to each of these priorities, advocating policies that are proactive rather than punitive in approach and include education, social responsibility, parental involvement, community involvement, and evaluation as critical components for a successful student athletic code of conduct ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the intent and direction of the Scott Valley School District Board of Trustees to review, revise, communicate, and implement the District’s Student Athletic Code of Conduct in a manner consistent with the philosophy of the American Athletic Institute.

A SSO is the unintenonal discharge of un‐ treated wastewater from the top of a manhole or cleanout caused by a blocked sewer pipe.
