DOSSIER DE PRESSE Festival DIÈSE 7 Nouvelles formes d’expressions artistiques du 2 au 7 juillet 2012 Orientations Le festival DIÈSE est organisé par la ville de Dijon en collaboration avec un collège de programmateurs associatifs dijonnais. Cette singularité assure une nature pluridisciplinaire au festival; les formes abordées, toujours renouvelées cherchent à éveiller la curiosité des publics. Le festival DIÈSE, 7e édition, se déroulera dans le centre historique de Dijon du 2 au 7 juillet 2012. Dièse est une manifestation qui a pour but de faire découvrir de nouvelles formes d’expressions artistiques. Sa programmation s’articule autour des arts numériques, d’expérimentations, des arts visuels, des musiques électroniques et contemporaines ou de toute expression mettant en jeu des esthétiques contemporaines, des formes innovantes et le croisement des disciplines artistiques. Le festival s’intéresse tout particulièrement à la notion de performance artistique qui favorise la proximité entre artistes et publics. L’accent est mis sur la valorisation du patrimoine historique de Dijon par l’intervention réelle des spectacles sur les sites retenus. Le patrimoine du centre-ville historique devient l’écrin idéal des artistes accueillis. DIÈSE, festival des émergences, fait le pari de l’exigence et de la découverte internationale et française sans oublier le vivier local. Le festival intègre la volonté de la ville d’être une référence écologique : de la conception du programme jusqu’aux installations techniques, à chaque fois que cela est possible, la dimension écologique est prise en considération. En parallèle, le festival s’engage à rendre plus accessibles les spectacles pour les publics en situation de handicap, en particulier les publics déficients auditifs et visuels. -

Ancrée dans la connaissance et la passion pour les « mondes noirs », cette association utilise la culture et l’histoire, chacune au sens large, pour partager et disséminer une vision peu ou mal connue d’un pan de l’humanité. Les Valeurs de l’association L’association Black History Month œuvre pour la promotion de la culture et de l’histoire dans un but de partage de connaissances. En tant qu’association résolument citoyenne, Black History Month a pour volonté de mettre en œuvre des manifestations culturelles visant les populations jeunes et moins jeunes afin de dépasser les clivages culturels et générationnels. Ainsi, l’association Black History Month se veut citoyenne et d’utilité publique. Elle vise le plus grand nombre. Définition du projet associatif Le Black History Month français est devenu indispensable car il répond à un besoin de connaissance et de reconnaissance de l’ensemble de la population de notre pays. Cette mani- festation doit devenir réellement française, il conviendra d’en franciser le nom, ne serait-ce que pour ne plus avoir peur de prononcer le mot « noir ». -

Qu’est-ce donc de rencontrer Pierre Henry et sa musique ? A n’en pas douter une émotion singulière pour ne pas dire rare que certains ont pu vivre au cœur de l’église Saint-Eustache ou ailleurs. Et là, on se rend compte que le verbe entendre ne suffit déjà plus pour fixer cet instant. Disons alors l’aventure que fut « La bête ». Mais s’exposer au travers de cet artiste ce n’est pas invoquer Pierre Henry et son génie. Oui, osons ce terme puisque le prix l’indique déjà. Et Pierre Henry fait partie de ces rares personnes où les détours sont proscrits. Ainsi, n’en prenons pas pour « dire » et honorer son geste. Puisqu’avant même la musique, l’œuvre de Pierre Henry fut une nouvelle syntaxe, une grammaire peut-être, et toujours une absolue modernité. Pierre Henry arpente depuis des décennies un silence et on imagine qu’il lui rend ses bruits. Il est en quelque sorte son hors champs et sa quête. On suppose que sa musique procède d’une insuffisance plus que d’une insatisfaction. Il manque toujours quelque chose et à ce quelque chose. A ce manque Pierre Henry lui peint ses mots. N’est-ce pas le signe des créateurs de génie de nous emporter dans un autre langage, de nous détourner de notre imaginaire et ainsi de transformer notre vision du monde ? Et, de cette lumière aux allures de foudre, ce monde en a besoin. -

MIKE CONCANNON BAND Debut Album, “Better Late Than Never”, Available January 15, 2018 The Mike Concannon Band announces their debut album, Better Late Than Never, set to release on January 15, 2018. The first single, Eyes of Sand, will be available in Fall of 2017. The song has recently been critiqued by TAXI remarking that “the song has tinges of Jeff Lynne and Dire Straits, which is some great company of potential influences.” # TRACK LIST! ! # ALBUM NOTES! # ARTIST STATEMENT! “Better Late Than Never” is in a real sense a literal truth for me. There’s this voice in my head saying, “…you better get o" your ass now and get some of these here songs out there, you’re running out of time son….” (I think that’s Robert Duvall’s voice I hear)! I should have put this album out 30 years ago. I have drawn on a lifetime of influences but am very grounded in the music of the 60s and 70s such as delta blues, rock and roll, Motown, soul and traditional country sounds, beats, ri"s, textures and vocals.
