(Photo : Bruce Zinger) 2012-2013 Grants Listing / Liste des subventions 2012-2013 2 GRANTS LISTING This report lists all grants awarded to organizations and individuals in the 2012-2013 fiscal year, and final payments made in the 2012-2013 fiscal year related to grants awarded in previous years, as well as the names of all jurors and advisory panel members. In 2012-2013, there were more than 65 granting programs at OAC. Ensuring the relevance, fairness and consistency of these programs and therefore the process for allocating grants is both rigorous and complex. Applicants whose applications are in process are never asked to sit on juries or advisory panels. Organizations receiving multi-year operating support are not assessed by advisory panels in Year 2 or Year 3 of their granting cycle. Representatives of organizations receiving multi-year funding may act as a juror or advisor. LISTE DES SUBVENTIONS Ce rapport annuel recense les subventions accordées aux organismes et aux particuliers pendant l’exercice financier 2012-2013, les derniers versements faits pendant cet exercice pour des subventions octroyées lors d’exercices précédents, ainsi que le nom des membres des jurys et des comités d’évaluation. En 2012-2013, le CAO a administré plus de 65 programmes de subvention. Les moyens utilisés pour assurer la pertinence, l’impartialité et la cohérence de ces programmes et, par conséquent, du processus d’octroi des subventions, sont à la fois rigoureux et complexes. Les candidats dont les demandes sont en cours de traitement ne siègent jamais aux jurys ou aux comités d’évaluation. Les organismes qui reçoivent une subvention de fonctionnement pluriannuelle ne sont pas évalués par un comité pendant l’exercice 2 ou l’exercice 3 de leur cycle de financement. Being Japanese Canadian: reflections on a broken world, Gods in My Home: Chinese New Year with Ancestor Portraits and Deity Prints and The Evidence Room helped ROM visitors connect past to present and understand forces and influences that have shaped our world, while #MeToo & the Arts brought forward a critical conversation about the arts, institutions, and cultural movements. Immersive and interactive exhibitions such as aptured in these pages is a pivotal Zuul: Life of an Armoured Dinosaur and Spiders: year for the Royal Ontario Museum. Fear & Fascination showcased groundbreaking Shaping Not only did the Museum’s robust ROM research and world-class storytelling. The Cattendance of 1.34 million visitors contribute to success achieved with these exhibitions set the our ranking as the #1 most-visited museum in stage for upcoming ROM-originals Bloodsuckers: the Canada and #7 in North America according to The Legends to Leeches, The Cloth That Changed the Art Newspaper, but a new report by Deloitte shows World: India’s Painted and Printed Cottons, and the the ROM, through its various activities, contributed busy slate of art, culture, and nature ahead.

Foy was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1982; Saleik in Velbert, Germany, in 1983. They graduated with distinction from the Alberta College of Art + Design in 2006, making their first appearance as DaveandJenn in the graduating exhibition. Experimenting with form and materials is an important aspect of their work, which includes painting, sculpture, installation, animation and digital video. Over the years they have developed a method of painting dense, rich worlds in between multiple layers of resin, slowly building up their final image in a manner that is reminiscent of celluloid animation, collage and Victorian shadow boxes. DaveandJenn are two times RBC Canadian Painting Competition finalists (2006, 2009), awarded the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta’s Biennial Emerging Artist Award (2010) and longlisted for the Sobey Art Award (2011). DaveandJenn’s work was included in the acclaimed “Oh Canada” exhibition curated by Denise Markonish at MASS MoCA – the largest survey of contemporary Canadian art ever produced outside of Canada. Their work can be found in both private and public collections throughout North America, including the Royal Bank of Canada, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Calgary Municipal Collection and the Art Gallery of Hamilton.
