REVISED 7.1.2021 NATIONAL SPORTING DOG DNA REGISTRY

REGISTRY PURPOSE

The NSD DNA Registry has been created for the sporting dog enthusiasts who wish to showcase the abilities of offspring in which has been produced through their breeding efforts. This registry is a 100% DNA Registry with all recorded having been DNA profiled to verify parentage of the offspring which is permanently registered within the NSD DNA Registry. Participation in the NSD DNA Registry is voluntary as this registry is a separate entity from the NSD Competition Series. A dog which is registered in the NSD DNA Registry is not entitled to participate in a Series Competition without being enrolled for such series. However, Permanent Registered dogs will be eligible to compete for a Junior Dog of the Year Title and in Breeder Showcase Events once enrolled for the current series year. An NSD DNA Registration Certificate will replace any previously issued Ownership Certificate and should be utilized when transferring ownership of a registered dog. A dog that is only being hunted in the NSD Competition Series will still be issued an ownership certificate for record keeping and champion points tracking purposes.

DEFINITIONS Licensed Breeder – A “Licensed Breeder” is defined as a breeder who wishes to participate in recording litters of offspring in the NSD DNA Registry. The Breeder’s License is a onetime fee of $10.00 and is good for the Breeder’s Lifetime. Single Registered - A “Single Registered” dog is defined as a dog that has applied and been recorded in the NSD DNA Registry that has not been permanently registered through the Litter Registration process. NSD will not verify parentage of any single registered dog. A single registered dog will be the beginning of its own lineage. Permanently Registered – A “Permanently Registered” dog is defined as a dog that has been whelped from a sire and dam that is recorded in the NSD DNA Registry and can be verified through DNA Certification as such offspring. In order for a dog to be permanently registered, the breeder must have a valid Breeder’s License and adhere to the Litter Registration Procedures. Proof of Parentage Certificate – “Proof of Parentage Certificate” is the certificate that is received once the registration process is completed and parentage certification has been made through the NSD DNA Registry. NSD Parentage Certificate – This Certificate displays a genetic comparison of the canines listed which resulted in an inconclusive or disqualified determination from BioPet Laboratories due to their strict accreditation guidelines. However, National Sporting Dog, Inc. strongly believes that there is enough probability in this comparison to register the dog as being the offspring of the listed sire and dam. This certificate does not certify or give definitive proof of parentage that is guaranteed by BioPet Laboratories. The certificate shows that NSD has accepted this comparison for registration purposes only and has registered the dog with the listed sire and dam. Junior Dog – A “Junior Dog” is defined as a Permanently Registered dog that has not reached 3 years of age by the January 1st of the current series year. Any dog that is classified as a Junior Dog will be eligible to compete in any junior only hunts and the Junior Showcase event for the current series year regardless of its age.
