Troy University Naval Station Pascagoula State (AL) IV A B M ES Gulfport Construction Battalion Center The Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation has adopted as its standards the principles for accreditation of the Commission on Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (COC-SACS) for general purpose institutions. COC-SACS is a United States Department of Education (USDE) recognized regional accrediting body in the eleven U.S. Southern states and in Latin America for those institutions of higher education that award associate, baccalaureate, master=s or doctoral degrees. For Bible colleges and theological seminaries, the Commission has adopted as minimum standards the criteria of the Association for Biblical Higher Education and the Association of Theological Schools. The Commission will consider accreditation of degree-granting institutions that are accredited by other USDE-recognized regional accrediting bodies. Level - categorized by the highest degree offered by an institution: Level I - Associate Degree as highest degree Level IV - Master=s Degree and Education Specialist Degree as highest degree Level II - Baccalaureate Degree as highest degree Level V - Three or fewer Doctoral Degrees as highest degrees Level III - Master=s Degree as highest degree Level VI - Four or more Doctoral Degrees as highest degrees Degrees - indicates all degrees offered by the institution using the following codes: A - Associate, B = Baccalaureate, M = Master, ES = Educational Specialist, D1 = three or fewer Doctorates, and D = four or more Doctorates. http://www.mississippi.edu/Academic_Affairs1/mcca.htm .
