Tour Program Information

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority enjoys providing FREE tours for our community, especially school children. Below you’ll find tour information for Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport (JAXEX), Cecil Airport and Herlong Recreational Airport, along with contact information to schedule a tour.

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) tours include:

 Tour of terminal and concourses  Walk through security checkpoint area*

Minimum age: Third Grade Group size: Minimum 15, maximum 35, including all teachers and chaperones Tour times: Twice a month; 10:30 – about 11:30, on Mondays or Fridays. Tours may be scheduled after business hours based on staff availability. Contact: Community Relations Administrator, (904) 741-2726

Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport (JAXEX) tours include:

 Visit flight school, observation area and control tower*  Presentation by JAA staff

Minimum age: First Grade Maximum group size: 30, including teachers and chaperones Tour times: Twice a month, based on staff availability Contact: JAXEX Airport Manager, (904) 641-7666

Cecil Airport tours include:

Airfield tour of various tenants including: Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF), Flightstar Aircraft Services, Florida State College of Jacksonville, Navy Fleet Readiness Center Southeast, Coast Guard, and Army National Guard.

Minimum age: Middle or high school students Maximum group size: 40 Tour times: Twice a month, flexible times Contact: Cecil Airport Manager, (904) 573-1613

Herlong Recreational Airport tours include:

 Tour of the Fixed Base Operator Terminal  Demonstration of fire fighting equipment*  Presentation on flight by tenant flight schools/clubs, including sitting in an airplane*

Minimum age: None. Tour may be customized to the children’s ages and purpose of the visit Maximum group size: 20, including teachers and chaperones Tour times: Twice a month; flexible hours Contact: Herlong Airport Manager, (904) 783-2805
