FEATURED ARTIST: AGAINST THE CURRENT

Against The Current onstage during their Past Lives world tour in Manchester. Against the Current has come a long way since making their start on YouTube as a cover band in 2011. Consisting of lead vocalist Chrissy Constanza, guitarist Daniel Gow and drummer Will Ferri, the three have since travelled the world far beyond their hometown of Poughkeepsie, New York.

The band quickly built an audience online by posting covers of popular pop songs with other YouTube cover artists such as Alex Goot and Kurt Hugo Schneider. These collaborations went viral, reaching millions of views. To this day, Against the Current’s cover of “Beauty and a Beat”, originally performed by Justin Bieber, has reached more than 160 Million views on YouTube. They then broke through the online bubble and headlined their first tour across the United Kingdom in 2014.

Since then, they’ve released four extended plays and two albums, toured with pop- punk giants such as , and Good Charlotte, and spent the summer of 2016 playing shows on the Vans Warped Tour.

The release of their sophomore album along with a different sound was met with praise from both critics and fans alike. Past Lives was described by Chris Payne of Billboard as “bold” and “electro-tinged”. The lead single from the album, “Strangers Again” has been streamed on Spotify over five million times. The band is currently wrapping up the Asian leg of their Past Lives Tour.

You can follow Against the Current on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for more updates!
