FROM: Aria Minu-Sepehr, Director

SUBJECT: April 2021 Report

1. Team Oregon has trained 1,219 students as of March 31, and increase of 20 percent over 2020.

 771 in basic endorsement courses  438 in intermediate endorsement courses  10 in other courses

Most training sites currently have seats available within two weeks. The projected number of endorsement-seeking students in 2021 is 9,000 to 10,000.

2. Operations: After a COVID-based pause since spring 2020, restart at the Portland Community College Sylvania campus has been approved. The Operations team gratefully acknowledges the time and commitment our partners at PCC spent positioning Team Oregon as a critical service for the community. The first Sylvania class is scheduled for early April. Work on the Bend Cascades site continues as planned with first class slated for fall 2021. Operations staff continue due diligence on motorcycle availability for program purchase. Current update from dealers suggests high demand and low inventory.

3. Training Department: Instructor updates and professional development clinics have begun. The second Instructor Preparation course of the year was completed March 27-28. Eight new range instructors were certified as apprentices, bringing the total for the year to 14. Three additional Instructor Preparation courses are scheduled for April, May and July. To better support training and operations in central and eastern Oregon, the IP on April 17-18 will be conducted in Redmond. This change is tied to an Outreach and Engagement campaign to support local instructors.

4. Outreach and Engagement: Team Oregon O&E has been tasked to direct its efforts on instructor recruitment in peripheral locations. Use of local instructors minimizes costs associated with travel for mobile assignments. Promotion of follow-on training to former students is also underway. This effort is coordinated with recruitment, outreach and marketing efforts on social media. Team Oregon will collaborate with Motosport.com and other partners for a greater outreach during Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month (May). TEAM OREGON YEAR-TO-DATE TRAINING TOTALS March
