Trichocereus.Net Seed List October 2018 Trichocereus.net Seed List October 2018 1 Trichocereus Growers Worldwide http://facebook.com/groups/trichocereus Instagram: http://Instagram.com/Trichocereus_net Trichocereus Page: http://facebook.com/trichocereus Trichocereus.net Premium Seeds List / Samenliste I only stock high quality premium seeds with great germination rates. Because of that, my prices are a little bit more expensive, but I think it´s way better to get 30 super healthy seedlings from a 3.50 Euro bag than 20 sickly seedlings from a 1000 seeds back of inferior quality. All my seeds are tested and viable. If one of my types should make problems and not come up due to whatever reasons, you can always send me a message and I´ll send you a new one with the next order. The standard price for one bag is 3.50 Euro and the worldwide shipping costs are 3.50 Euros as a registered letter. If you have questions, don´t hesitate to write me to [email protected]! Join the Trichocereus.net Seedlist here: https://trichocereus.net/newsletter I ship worldwide and the worldwide shipping costs are always the same 3.50 Euro. I have years of experience shipping to Australia and I label all seeds according to the AQUIS requirements. Most cacti that I have on my list can be imported to Australia (Trichocereus) without problems. But there are a few genera that are considered invasive (eg Opuntia, Haageocereus) and which can´t be shipped there. Please check the AQUIS database called ICON if you are unsure about permitted species. Most Trichocereus species are permitted if labeled correctly. Prices: 30 seeds / 30 Samen - 3.50 Euro 100s – 10.00 Euro (Some crosses are unavailable in quantities above 30s) NO WHOLESALE ON MOST SEEDS – LIMITED TO ONE BAG PER ORDER These prices apply to most strains unless listed otherwise. I am also happy to trade seeds, so let me know if you have something I might like! Shipping costs: 3.50 Euro worldwide shipping costs in a registered & padded letter. 2 Book: TRICHOCEREUS VOLUME I: THE SAN PEDRO GROUP TRICHOCEREUS VOLUME 1 is THE new botanical book on the subject. This book contains hundreds of photos and descriptions of all species connected to Trichocereus pachanoi. There are only 999 books and all of them are personally signed, numbered and stamped with the official stamp of Trichocereus.net. There only was one very limited run and all of these books are from the First Crowdfunding Edition. If you missed your chance to get a copy when we had the campaign, now is the time to grab one of the remaining books. Making this book took many years and it is the most beautiful book on the subject so far. It is an oversized A4 hardcover book that weighs a stunning 1.7 Kilo. It is quality work and made with lots of love. It is one of the books that is worth every penny and not a quick cash grab. There are very few books available on the subject and the fact that it was possible to finance the printing costs is a miracle that was only possible due to our crowdfunding campaign. TRICHOCEREUS VOLUME I: THE SAN PEDRO GROUP is a hardcover book with 400 all-color pages and contains hundreds of high quality photos from Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and collections from all over the world. It´s a self-published book that was printed in tiny edition and right now it is completely open if there will be a second edition. Though I would love to reprint, it is possible that it will be a one time thing and when the copies are gone they are gone. TRICHOCEREUS VOLUME I: THE SAN PEDRO GROUP includes descriptions and photos of Trichocereus pachanoi, Trichocereus peruvianus, Trichocereus macrogonus, Trichocereus glaucus, Trichocereus bridgesii, Trichocereus santaensis, Trichocereus cuzcoensis, Trichocereus knuthianus, Trichocereus scopulicola, Trichocereus pallarensis, Trichocereus crassicostatus, Trichocereus tarmaensis, Trichocereus riomizquensis, Trichocereus puquiensis, Trichocereus schoenii, Trichocereus uyupampensis, Trichocereus chalaensis, Trichocereus tulhuayacensis, Trichocereus validus, etc. There also is a large chapter about monstrose cultivars and a bonus chapter showing some stunning panorama views from the habitats. You will love this book! TRICHOCEREUS VOLUME 1: THE SAN PEDRO GROUP by Patrick Noll In Stock now and shipping within 3-4 business days (3-8 weeks delivery time). The overall page count will be 250 - 300 all color pages. The book is certainly written in English. Join the Preorder list at http://lophophora.de and you will be notified as soon as the book is available. 5 Trichocereus Shirts We produced a limited promo T-shirt for the release of the upcoming book SAN PEDRO HYBRIDS. It´s the first shirt and I am currently printing them in Demand to make sure that the shirts are of the highest quality. We use very soft cotton and a well designed shirt, which is why the price is a little bit higher, but it´s very worth it. The shirts look great and are extremely photorealistic. The available sizes are S, M, L, XL and XXL. Black or White available. Our printer can also print Girly Shirts and Longsleeves. 35 Euro + 5 Euro Worldwide Shipping Costs – Delivery time is somewhere between 3-6 weeks. 6 7 Echinopsis lamprochlora / Trichocereus lamprochlorus Argentina NEW 3.50 Euro / 30 seeds (Limited to one bag per order) Argentinian species that mostly grows around La Rioja and Cordoba. Beautiful plants that are related to Trichocereus spachianus. Trichocereus lamprochlorus in cultivation. Not the mother plant. 8 PNO 2018.0003 Trichocereus hybrid ‚Adolf Von Bayer‘ x SB This cross is the result of a self-pollination on the classic Cantora hybrid ‘Adolf von Bayer’. It is still one of the best Cantora hybrids that I know and the flowers will most likely be excellent. A Cantora hybrid is a hybrid between a Trichocereus candicans and an Echinopsis toralapana, which belongs to Echinopsis obrepanda. Cantora hybrids are known for their excellent flowers, which are often multicolored and start coming up at a very young age. In a few years when they will flower, you will be glad you bought some. 9 PNO 2018.0005 Multihybrid ((Duett x Nocturne) x AW9/2001) x Lobivia winteriana This incredible cross pairs a Lobivia/Echinopsis multihybrid that mostly follows the legendary hybrid DUETT by Hartmut Kellner and the Peruvian Lobivia species Lobivia winteriana. The mother has a very wavy flower and the goal of this cross is to get offspring with wavy flowers that also have a strong contrast and a white throath. 10 PNO 2018.0012 Trichocereus (Pisac x Orange California) x (Lobivia winteriana x Blaze) Fascinating cross that involves a hybrid between Gräser´s classic hybrid ‘Pisac’ and the legendary ‘Orange California’ and a Lobivia cross involving two of the most beautiful Lobivia flowers. The goal of the cross was to get a generation of hybrids that crosses well with both Lobivia and Trichocereus hybrids. Trichocereus hybrid (Pisac x Orange California) 11 PNO 2018.0020 Trichocereus ‘Antique Crown’ x (Lobivia winteriana x Lobvivia ‘Blaze’) Trichocereus hybrid ‚Antique Crown‘ by Andreas Wessner 12 PNO 2018.0025 LobiviaEchinopsis multi hybrid ML AP 2011 ML3 x (JT 09-14 (Lobivia ferox x Lobivia longispina) x Psl.

Membership Kathy Fewox HCSS celebrated its anniversary on July 24, 2019 by having a potluck dinner. Seventeen members attended the meeting. There was lots of wonderful food to enjoy, and good company. Cindy Gray donated four Tephro- cactus plants, two for the raffle and two as door prizes. Our meeting on August 28 was attended by nineteen members who braved the threat of rain and flooding to reach the Multi-Service Center. Most of us managed to get there with little trouble, as the worst of the rain had moved south of the 610 loop by about 6:30 p.m. However, Robert Smith got stuck in rain-delayed traffic on his trip in from Highlands, and didn’t arrive until the meeting was officially over. Also attending were four guests: Chris Balshaw, Aditi Nabar, Ziona Burkett (a Florida friend of BonnieJean Grady’s), and Mariela Hiraldo (daughter of Alan Schachter). Dave Thomas donated a Carnegiea gigantea (Giant Saguaro) as a door prize. It isn’t giant yet, but winner Frank Lee is hoping it will grow into its name.

ABSTRACT The morphological characteristics of five species of pollen from the subfamily Cactoideae, family Cactaceae, were described: Three species, Echinopsis chalaensis (Rauh & Backeb.) Friedrich & G.D.Rowley, Haageocereus decumbens (Vaupel) Backeb. and Pygmaeocereus sp. Johnson & Backeb., (Trichocereeae tribe); Corryocactus brevistylus (K. Schum. ex Vaupel) Britton & Rose (Pachycereeae tribe) and Neoraimondia arequipensis (Meyen) Backeb., (Browningieae tribe). All pollen grains observed under a light microscope appeared in monades, shape varying from spheroidal to spheroidal oblate; all colpate, with the exception of C. brevistylus, with spinules < 1 µm to 2 µm; exine thickness varied 2 - 3 µm; tectum without perceptible differences, always was pierced.

  • Ecology and Conservation of the Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl in Arizona
United States Department of Agriculture Ecology and Conservation Forest Service Rocky Mountain of the Cactus Ferruginous Research Station General Technical Report RMRS-GTR-43 Pygmy-Owl in Arizona January 2000 Abstract ____________________________________ Cartron, Jean-Luc E.; Finch, Deborah M., tech. eds. 2000. Ecology and conservation of the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl in Arizona. Gen. Tech. Rep. RMRS-GTR-43. Ogden, UT: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station. 68 p. This report is the result of a cooperative effort by the Rocky Mountain Research Station and the USDA Forest Service Region 3, with participation by the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the Bureau of Land Management. It assesses the state of knowledge related to the conservation status of the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl in Arizona. The population decline of this owl has been attributed to the loss of riparian areas before and after the turn of the 20th century. Currently, the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl is chiefly found in southern Arizona in xeroriparian vegetation and well- structured upland desertscrub. The primary threat to the remaining pygmy-owl population appears to be continued habitat loss due to residential development. Important information gaps exist and prevent a full understanding of the current population status of the owl and its conservation needs. Nat. Croat. Vol. 27, No. 2, 407- 420*, 2018, Zagreb. In this paper, the plant lists of glasshouse succulents grown in the Botanical Garden from 1895 to 2017 are studied. Synonymy, nomenclature and origin of plant material were sorted. The lists of species grown in the last 122 years are constructed in such a way as to show that throughout that period at least 1423 taxa of succulent plants from 254 genera and 17 families inhabited the Garden’s cold glass- house collection. On doit lire “Espostoa melanostele dans le Canyon Tinajas, près de Lima GC157.04” Although cerei are not the most popular cacti for growers restricted by cultivation in glasshouses, almost all collections have at least one representative of this beautiful genus. Most species are easy to cultivate and the hairy stems of many species make them an attractive addition to any collection, even in a small glasshouse. In pots, they are slower growing than many cerei, a factor which also makes them good show plants, frequently seen winning the Cereus class. For exhibitors, those species with stems covered with white hair catch the judge's eye. The hair can also hide minor blemishes on the stem which would more likely get spotted and count against other less covered species! In keeping with the fashionable trend towards the broader concept of genera, Espostoa has been expanded in recent years to include species previously included in the separate genera Pseudoespostoa Backbg., Thrixanthocereus Backbg. and Vatricania Backbg. Recent molecular studies have shown that Vatricania is not an Espostoa and so it will be excluded from this revised article.
