The Partnership is formed of 44 primary schools, 8 secondary schools and 4 special schools / pupil referral units (PRUs). In September 2011, due to a reduction in government funding, MSSP reduced in size and became a self-funded entity via a range of avenues but predominantly through its key stakeholders, Merton state schools and academies. Since then the Partnership has gradually expanded and now provides a specialist sports provision service and professional development programme.
