Bible Story Outline Navigator ( sticks up for Paul) • Acts 9:26-31

SETTING UP THE STORY • Call Host out to play • As a young man, Saul had traveled to to study • He hunted down anyone who followed • (To Host) Saul, make your meanest face and pretend like you’re going to hurt me • Saul went all over Jerusalem, throwing believers in jail and hurting them • Saul met Jesus, and instead of arresting believers, Saul became one of them • (To Host) Show us how Saul might have looked after he met Jesus and changed • Saul learned everything he could about Jesus and shared the story with many people • When a group of people in tried to kill him, he decided it was time to return to Jerusalem

SAUL ENTERS JERUSALEM • Saul had heard where some of the believers were meeting and decided to join them • The believers were scared of Saul • It seemed impossible that he had changed and become one of them now • (To Host) Back to your angry face, Saul

BARNABAS • It looked like Saul was going to have to leave Jerusalem • Thankfully, a man named Barnabas showed up • He had heard the whole story and he believed Saul had really changed • Barnabas knew he could help, if he could just show others how Saul had changed

DEFENDING SAUL • Barnabas took Saul to see Peter, James, and some others who followed Jesus • Read Acts 9:27b • The other believers saw Saul like this: angry, a bully, a mean person who wanted to hurt them • But Barnabas told them that Saul had met the Lord (move Host’s fist down) • Barnabas told them how God had spoken to Saul (wave hand in front of Host’s mouth) • Barnabas told them how Saul had been preaching all throughout Damascus, sharing the good news of Jesus • Interact with Host; Host exits

WRAPPING UP THE STORY • Because Barnabas had seen the change in Saul and stood up for him, Saul was accepted by the believers in Jerusalem and able tell the story of Jesus • When you are with other people, how do YOU see them? • BL: The story of Jesus changes how I see others.
