MARINE DEPARTMENT NOTICE NO. 10 OF 2018

(Establishment, Withdrawal and Changes of Aids to Navigation, Fairways, Anchorages & Other Port Facilities)

Establishment and Re-alignment of Fairways and Anchorages

Owners, operators, masters and person-in-charge of vessels are advised that establishment of three principal fairways and one prohibited fishing area in waters north of the Lantau Island, and the re-alignment of the boundaries of four existing principal fairways and adjacent anchorages in the western part of Victoria Harbour, will come into effect on 1 February 2018.

2. The boundaries of the three new principal fairways, namely the Urmston Road Fairway, the Castle Peak Fairway and the Ha Pang Fairway are respectively specified in items (1) to (3) of Appendix I. The boundaries of the new prohibited fishing area that joins the Ma Wan Fairway, the Kap Shui Mun Fairway and the Ha Pang Fairway, is specified in item (4) of Appendix I. Arising from the establishment of principal fairways, three existing light buoys in the area will be relocated on 31 January 2018 as specified in item (5) of Appendix I. A drawing showing the new principal fairways, the prohibited fishing area and positions of the relocated light buoys is attached to Plan I of this notice.

3. The new boundaries of the four re-aligned principal fairways, namely the Southern Fairway, the North Green Island Fairway, the Northern Fairway and the Central Fairway, are respectively specified in items (1) to (4) of Appendix II. The new boundaries of the re-aligned anchorages, namely the Western Dangerous Goods Anchorage and Kellett Anchorages No. 1, 2 & 3 are respectively specified in items (5) to (8) of Appendix II. Arising from the re-alignment of fairways, one new lateral buoy will be established and five existing light buoys will be relocated on 1 and 2 February 2018 as specified in item (9) of Appendix II. A drawing showing the re-aligned principal fairways, re-aligned anchorages and positions of the new and relocated light buoys is attached to Plan II of this notice.
