William Adams SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER - CLASS III Captain Operations The Middle Township Police Department is a progressive, Donald Nelson municipal law enforcement agency located in Cape May County, New Jersey. The police Captain department has an authorized strength of 53 full-time sworn Police Officers and 7 Class II Administration Special Law Enforcement Officers. These officers serve a diverse population of approximately 19,000 year-round residents with a seasonal influx of an additional 50,000 tourists within a 72 Robert Shepherd square mile township.

Operations Middle Township Police Department in conjunction with Middle Township Public James Loftus Schools is currently accepting resumes for the “NEW” position of Class III Special Law Lieutenant Enforcement Officers. This position will require the applicant to work as assigned, while school Administration and/or after school activities are in session, to be determined upon hiring. Starting salary for the position of Class III Special Law Enforcement Officer will be discussed during the application Douglas Osmundsen process. Lieutenant Administration A Class III Special Law Enforcement Officer appointed pursuant to the provisions of P.L.1985,c.439(C.40A:14-146.8 et seq.) shall not, based on this appointment, be eligible for Clinton Stocker health care benefits or enrollment in any State-administered retirement system. Major Crimes Unit All applicants for the title must meet the following pre-certification requirements: Kenneth Martin Sergeant  Must be a retired police officer who has previously served as a duly qualified, fully- Street Crimes Unit trained, full-time officer in any municipality or county of this state, or as a member of the New Jersey State Police, and must be living in New Jersey. Mark Higginbottom  Must be retired from that agency in good standing (necessary to have a letter of good Sergeant standing issued by the agency from which officer retired, listing the date and type of Special Services Unit retirement. A copy will be submitted to the PTC).

 Limited Break in Service: During the first year of the program (July 1, 2017 to June 30, Major Crimes Unit: 609-465-8704 2018), a new SLEO III’s break in service may not exceed five (5) years.
