It is a great honor and pleasure to serve the citizens of Cape May County as the Commissioner Director. Cape May County is celebrating its 325th Anniversary, having been incorporated on November 10, 1692. The work of the Board of Commissioners has always been challenging and decisions made by the Commissioners over the years have helped to make Cape May County the envy of the State. My colleagues and I strive every day to improve services to the residents to enhance the quality of life in Cape May County. The Board of Commissioners has spent the past few years, looking within to reorganize County departments and services to better address the changing needs and demands. Health and Public Safety are paramount in all our decisions and drive us to stay on top of issues that impact our daily lives. This is most evident in the changes in our Human Services Department where resources and Gerald M. Thornton funding have been reallocated to meet emerging needs.
