3 Abkürzungsverzeichnis DAP Deutsche Arbeiter Partei DSP Deutsch Sozialitische Partei NS Nationalsozialisten NSDAP Nationalsozialitische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei ONT Orden der Neutempler/Ordi Novi Templi SPD Sozialitische Partei Deutschland USPD Unabhängige Sozialdemokratische Partei Deuschland VB Völkischer Beobachter 4 INHALTSVERZEICHNIS I. • The Hitler Youth: Blind Fanaticism
The Hitler Youth: Blind Fanaticism Janessa Hansen Senior Division Individual exhibit Student Composed Words: 500 Process Paper Word Count: 500 Process Paper I’ve always had an interest in The Holocaust. I’ve watched films and read books on it for many years. Last summer my grandpa and I were watching a documentary on National Geography about The Hitler Youth. It was fascinating to me how millions of children could believe the ridiculous rhetoric the Nazis preached. I decided it would be a fascinating project and proceeded to rid of my research from my old topic I had thought of. To begin, I started with doing background research. I learned some interesting information about how the group was started and what kind of activities they took part in from The Holocaust Memorial Museum and books. After some time, I decided I should try to find books written by people who were actually in the Hitler Youth, and found quite a few. After that, I began researching how the Hitler Youth was able to thrive. By that time I had established that the barrier they broke through, which was their ignorance and prejudice, so I started researching how they were able to break through that barrier. Using this knowledge, I looked for textbooks the Nazis had used for the Hitler Youth to teach them, and I also looked at education standards at the time. I looked at letters and diaries written by the Hitler Youth at the time to understand how their feelings and perspectives, and how those thoughts progressed after the war.

  • Hitler and the Jewish People
Journal of Genocide Research (2000), 2(3), 411–430 [The issue of uniqueness has been around for several years. It has been discussed and debated extensively, though by no means de nitively, to everyone’s satisfaction. At times the dispute has generated more heat than light, largely not on philosophical grounds, not even on semantic ones. Though the question of uniqueness has centered primarily on the qualities of the Holocaust, it has far broader rami cations than just for this single (and singular?) genocide. At issue, no less, is the fundamental question: is each incident of genocide so distinct from another that comparison is unproductive, a cul-de-sac? Can each case be examined by itself divorced from other like cases? The following essay by Professor Gunnar Heinsohn may concern itself primarily with the Holocaust in mind as an event apart; yet it is more than that. Its analysis could be a model for teaching the incomparability of any genocide besides the Holocaust. By agreement with Professor Heinsohn, a “rebuttal” essay will follow his contribution in a subsequent issue of Genocide Research. We hope the readers will be drawn into this debate with comments of their own. The editors in particular are interested in promoting this dialogue in order to promote the comparative approach, namely, the speech for both similarities and dissimilarities.] What makes the Holocaust a uniquely unique genocide? GUNNAR HEINSOHN Jewish “race” but not Jewish faith as target of the Holocaust? It was not for their faith that the Jews were persecuted in Hitler’s day—that is precisely why the extermination campaign astounded the Jews and the rest of the world.

  • Hitler's Downfall and the Collapse of the Thousand Years Reich: Multi Fronts and Incapable Allies
Open Military Studies 2020; 6: 11–23 Muhammad Ali Baig* Hitler’s Downfall and the Collapse of the Thousand Years Reich: Multi Fronts and Incapable Allies https://doi.org/10.1515/openms-2020-0101 Received May 14, 2020; accepted July 23, 2020 Abstract: The downfall of Adolf Hitler was a significant development in the history of the world. His armies conquered almost all of Europe in a dramatic span of time by the employment of Blitzkrieg tactics. Before the outbreak of the Second World War, Hitler assisted General Franco in the Spanish Civil War. Later, while still fighting on the Western front, Hitler ordered the Afrika Korps to assist Italians in Northern Africa and in the Balkans region and finally launched Operation Barbarossa by invading the Soviet Union. The Anti- Comintern Pact, Pact of Steel and Tripartite Pact brought the Third Reich, the Empire of Japan and the Kingdom of Italy onto one page. This paper attempts to probe the multiple fronts and the efficacy of Hitler’s allies including Japan, Italy, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and Croatia and to try and find the causes behind the downfall of one of the strongest men the world has ever seen from a theoretical perspective. This research did not intend to glorify Hitler or Nazism, but focuses on how the maximization of power and the states’ actions with hegemonic aspirations triggered a balancing coalition and ultimately resulted in punishment from the system itself. Keywords: Hitler, Second World War, Blitzkrieg, Alliances, Multi-Front War. Prelude Hitler’s

The RSHA Generation Abstract The Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) was once the capital of a vast empire of terror; a place where surveillance, persecution, and extermination became merely a quotidian, bureaucratic function and where the Schreibtischtäter could implement their deadly ideology from afar, or sometimes in person; a place where divisions of the SS less associated by the general public with Nazi crimes against humanity, such as the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) and Sicherheitspolizei (Sipo), would persecute and kill more people than the Gestapo and most other Nazi institutions of terror. The RSHA and its many offices became an outlet for many Nazi intellectual elites, who were educated at the prestigious institutions of Weimar and Nazi Germany. After the creation of the RSHA within the SS, these individuals through this apparatus and the opportunities presented by German military conquests were transformed from ideological academics to calculating exterminators of millions.
