Accepted 11-V-2001) Abstract: The mollusks in Manuel Antonio National Park on the central section of the Pacific coast of Costa Rica were studied along thirty-six transects done perpendicular to the shore, and by random sampling of subtidal environments, beaches and mangrove forest. Seventy-four species of mollusks belonging to three classes and 40 families were found: 63 gastropods, 9 bivalves and 2 chitons, during this study in 1995. Of these, 16 species were found only as empty shells (11) or inhabited by hermit crabs (5). Forty-eight species were found at only one locality. Half the species were found at one site, Puerto Escondido. The most diverse habitat was the low rocky intertidal zone. Nodilittorina modesta was present in 34 transects and Nerita scabricosta in 30. Nodilittorina aspera had the highest density of mollusks in the transects. Only four transects did not clustered into the four main groups. The species composition of one cluster of transects is associated with a boulder substrate, while another cluster of transects associates with site. -

Thirteen samplings were performed at 8 stations in 2012 (seven samplings), 2014 (four), and 2015 (two). The collection of the mollusks in each station was done at a maximum depth of 5 m for 1 h by 3 divers. A total of 2086 specimens belonging to 89 species, 36 families, and 3 classes of mollusks were identified. Gastropoda was the most diverse and abundant group. Calyptreaidae, Columbellidae, and Muricidae had >5 species, but Pisaniidae, Conidae, Fasciolariidae, and Muricidae had ≥15% of relative abundance. Most species found in this study were recorded in the rocky intertidal zone, and 10 species were restricted to the rocky subtidal zone. The affinity in the composition of the species during 2012–2015 had a low similarity (25%), but we could differentiate natural and anthropogenic effects according to malacological composition. -

P. 39390 ABSTRACT Molluscan communities were studied on two shores, one exposed and the other sheltered from wave action by determining the diversity, richness, density, dominance, and similarity of the groups of species found in the upper part of middie intertidal zone. The sample área per location and date was 20 m^. The samples were taken quarterly during the year. Species richness was found to be 44 species for both sites combined. The exposed site had a greater richness (41 species) and lower density (64.2 organisms/m~), whereas the sheltered site showed a higher density (88.08 organisms/m") and smaller richness (33 species). -

Se realiza este estudio con el fin de dar una pequeña aportación sobre las especies que habitan en la costa Guerrerense. El estudio se realizó en el intermareal rocoso de Puerto Vicente Guerrero México, el muestreo se realizó en un área de 10m2 y la unidad de muestreo fue de 1m2. Los ejemplares encontrados dentro de los cuadrantes fueron identificados y cuantificados. Se encontró una comunidad de moluscos integrada por 32 especies, 24 géneros y 14 familias de Gastrópodos. La familia MURICIDE presentó la mayor riqueza, con siete especies seguida por la familia COLUMBELLIDAE con seis. La mayor abundancia fue para Acanthais triangularis. Revista Iberoamericana de Ciencias ISSN 2334-2501 Composición de la Familia Columbellidae (Mollusca: Gastropoda) en Acapulco, México Omar Alonso Ahumada-Martínez, Pedro Flores-Rodríguez, Rafael Flores-Garza Unidad Académica de Ecología Marina Universidad Autónoma de de Guerrero Acapulco, Gro., México [rfloresgarza, pfloresrodriguez]@yahoo.com/ [email protected] Abstract—Acapulco, Guerrero is located within the Marine Priority Region No. 32 in this region Columbellidae Family studies were conducted using ecological measurements with the aim of analyze the structure of the community; based on the determination of species richness, abundance, simple dominance, analyze sizes in length, width and height and estimate the descriptive statistics, indices of diversity and uniformity, and the degree of occurrence of the species. 21 species of a total of 2728 organisms were determined. Were dominant species Mitrella ocellata, Costoanachis nigrofusca and Columbella fuscata, the largest size was Columbella major. The value of the index was H '= 2,624 bits/individual and J' = 0.597. Species diversity is high. Seven representative species were determined Keyword— Columbellidae, Distribution, Abundance, Intertidal and Sizes. Resumen— Acapulco-Guerrero se encuentra dentro de la Región Marina Prioritaria Nº 32, ahí se realizaron estudios de la Familia Columbellidae utilizando mediciones ecológicas con el objetivo de analizar la estructura de la comunidad; con base en la determinación de la riqueza, abundancia, dominancia simple, analizar las tallas en largo-ancho-alto y estimar los estadísticos descriptivos, los índices de diversidad y uniformidad, así como el grado de aparición de las especies. Se determinaron 21 especies de un total de 2728 organismos, las dominantes fueron: Mitrella ocellata, Costoanachis nigrofusca y Columbella fuscata, la de mayor talla fue Columbella major. -
