19 MXL019 - Precision I.D

The Precision I.D includes all the features of the standard Precision, with an additional ‘Sat Found’ LED. This alerts the user when the correct satellite has been found and in turn, confirms the TV is showing a picture.

This removes the possibility of locating the wrong satellite and is ideal when the user is unable to see or hear the TV when outside the vehicle.

Why is this useful?

When setting up your Precision, it is easy to locate the wrong satellite as they are all located in very close proximity in the south sky.

The standard Sat Finder is unable to identify individual satellites and will instead highlight proximity to any of these European satellites.

The user must view the TV to confirm the correct satellite has been located. The Precision I.D overcomes this and indicates the correct satellite has been located.

Compass 5m Flexible Cable 23 Satellite Systems - What dish size?

The dish size determines the geographic area from which you can receive your desired satellite, this area is known as the satellites ‘footprint’. For UK channels, we require the Astra 2 satellite.

Generally, the larger the dish, the greater the geographic area or ‘footprint’ from which you should receive satellite TV.

Typically, to receive Astra 2 a 35cm, 40cm or 55cm would give you coverage in the UK. A 65cm dish offers coverage into the middle of France, whilst a 75cm dish will offer coverage further across France and an 85cm dish will offer coverage approaching the Spanish border or further with Automatic Skew*. (Please Note: Not all systems are available in all dish sizes). Once you are out of this footrpint you will still be able to lock onto Astra 2 but receive a more basic range of channels.

There is a range of additional satellites to choose from, offering European TV and some UK channels, includung Astra 1 and Hotbird amongst others.

35- 50- *Automatic Skew 40cm 65cm 75cm 85cm We recommend Automatic Skew for those who plan to travel across Southern 55cm Europe to places such as the South of France where the satellite footprint fringe is reached.
