I am writing in response to your request for information made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations (2004) on 28th May 2014 and logged under our reference number 2995.

Q1. Who is your lead officer for DBS checking?

Q2. How many DBS checks do you carry out each year, broken down by type e.g. Standard, Basic or Enhanced?

Q3. Are you a registered body at the DBS that umbrellas other organisations?

Q4. Are you currently doing your DBS checks online and if so, what system do you use?

Q5. Have you a contract currently with a DBS eBulk provider and if so when does the contract come to an end?

A1. The Council’s lead officer for criminal record checks is Nigel Harwood who is a Licensing Officer employed by Council. This is because Wealden and Rother have a shared Environmental Health Service.

A2. As an employer we carried out 4 enhanced disclosures on our staff in 2013 / 14. If you require information about the other disclosures that may be carried out by the Licensing section you should contact Mr. Harwood at , Town Hall, London Road, Bexhill-on-Sea East TN39 3JX.
