There is Scale Fest in Grape- vine, Texas and of course our main event of the year, EagleQuest, just to name a few. If you didn’t get tickets yet, there is still time. Visit our website at www.SquadronEagleQuest.com for updates. Every year this event has grown and the exquisite work from highly skilled modelers that is being displayed is a testament to the success of the show. So come and join us and bring friends and family for a modeling experience like no other. We’ll see you there! Another big convention that we attend every year is the IPMS Nationals in July. This year it is hosted in Omaha Nebraska. The “Nationals” is an event I always look forward to because of Squadron’s outreach to the public. We love to meet you and hear your feedback in person! Be sure to stop by and see us if you plan to attend.

We have never had so many problems in fitting the range of plants we have “on our books” into the available space! We always try and keep our lists “democratic” and balanced although at times our prejudices show and one or two groups rise to the top. This year we are offering an unprecedented range of calochortus in a multiplicity of sizes, colours and flower shapes from the charming fairy lanterns of C. albidus through to the spectacular, later-flowering mariposas with upward-facing bowl-shaped flowers in a rich tapestry of shades from canary-yellow through to lilac, lavender and purple. Counterpoised to these flashy dandies we are offering an assortment of choice muscari whose quiet charm, softer colours and Tulipa vvedenskyi Tecophilaea cyanocrocus Violacea persistent flowering make them no less effective in the winter and spring garden. Standouts among this group are the deliciously scented duo, M. muscarimi and M. macrocarpum and the striking and little known tassel-hyacith, M. weissii. While it has its devotees, many gardeners are unaware of the qualities of the large and diverse tribe of “onions”, known as alliums.

Warm-Weather Vegetable and Annual Flowers Plant List 2017 Most of these vegetable seedlings are sold in 3.5 / 4 inch square pots for $4.50 each. Most pots contain 2 or more seedlings - hardened off and timed perfectly for planting in this area. Note - Hybrids are not GMOs, and they are not evil. They are the result of carefully planned natural plant breedings which result in offspring that are often stronger or more resistant to certain issues. We choose hybrids (vs. heirlooms) appropriately; often we offer hybrid alternatives to address specific, local and climate-related gardening issues, so your garden is as productive as possible. special name/variety notes DESCRIPTION category Easy to grow among the vegetable plants, forms clusters of small Alyssum, White annual flowers that effectively attract beneficial insects and pollinators. IN SEARCH OF THE AMAZON AMERICAN ENCOUNTERS/GLOBAL INTERACTIONS A series edited by Gilbert M. Joseph and Emily S. Rosenberg This series aims to stimulate critical perspectives and fresh interpretive frameworks for scholarship on the history of the imposing global pres- ence of the United States. Its primary concerns include the deployment and contestation of power, the construction and deconstruction of cul- tural and political borders, the fluid meanings of intercultural encoun- ters, and the complex interplay between the global and the local. American Encounters seeks to strengthen dialogue and collaboration between histo- rians of U.S. international relations and area studies specialists. The series encourages scholarship based on multiarchival historical research. At the same time, it supports a recognition of the represen- tational character of all stories about the past and promotes critical in- quiry into issues of subjectivity and narrative. In the process, American Encounters strives to understand the context in which meanings related to nations, cultures, and political economy are continually produced, chal- lenged, and reshaped.
