History The Algerian Macroseismic Database of Algeria is regularly upgraded. September 2015: uploading of the AMD and related files (earthquake catalogue and original information on each seismic event). This first version included the information on the earthquakes of Algiers region and north-eastern Algeria as reported in Harbi et al. 2015. The September 2015 version contained information on 603 revised earthquakes among which are 202 events that were not reported in any previous work or catalogue. May 2017: Updating of the AMD and related files by including the information that was newly retrieved regarding the earthquakes of north-eastern Algeria and Algiers region as well as the information related to the earthquakes of the Blida region, which were studied by Harbi et al. (2017). The May 2017 version contained information on 1173 revised earthquakes among which are 449 events that were not reported in any previous work or catalogue. November 2018: Updating of the AMD and related files by including the information that was newly retrieved regarding the earthquakes of north-eastern Algeria, Algiers and Blida regions as well as the earthquake of Oran on 9 October 1790. See the results that we obtained with regard to the historical seismicity study of Algeria in Harbi et al. (2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2017), Sebaï and Bernard (2008), Harbi and Maouche (2009) and Chimouni et al. (2018). This new version contained information on 1193 revised earthquakes among which are 513 events that were not reported in any previous work or catalogue. New August 2020: Updating of the AMD and related files by including the information that was newly retrieved regarding the earthquakes of north-eastern Algeria, Algiers, Blida regions, and the new events with intensity ranging from V to VIII (EMS). See 3 the results that we obtained with regard to the historical seismicity study of Algeria in Harbi et al. (2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2017, 2020), Sebaï and Bernard (2008), Harbi and Maouche (2009). This new version contained information on 1241 revised earthquakes among which are 655 events that were not reported in any previous work or catalogue. The earthquake catalogue ECA presented here corresponds to the earthquakes reported in the AMD only. The historical earthquake catalogue of Algeria still under construction contains more events than that presented version.
