He's had ambition ever since he was the leading heartthrob in *NSYNC. He drove the teen pop quintet to the top of the charts, far exceeding their peers the Backstreet Boys, and when the group could achieve no more, he eased into a solo career that earned him great sales and praise, largely centered on how he reworked the dynamic sound of early Michael Jackson at a time when Jacko was so hapless he turned away songs that later became JT hits, such as the Neptunes-propelled "Rock Your Body." If Michael Jackson was the touchstone for Justified, Prince provides the cornerstone of FutureSex/LoveSounds, at least to a certain extent -- Timbaland, Timberlake's chief collaborator here, does indeed spend plenty of time on FutureSex refurbishing the electro-funk of Prince's early- '80s recordings, just like he did with Nelly Furtado's Loose, and Timberlake's obsession with sex does indeed recall Prince's carnivorous carnality of the early '80s. Each of the three opening songs has "sex" in their titles and Justin marries his innuendos to grinding, squealing synths that conjure the funky spirit of the Minneapolis Sound. Prince isn't the only R&B idol JT evokes here. He's also put together a Stevie Wonder-esque slice of protest pop in "Losing My Way," where he writes in the character of a man who had it all and threw it all away. This serious undercurrent when combined with Timbaland's retro-future production makes FutureSex/LoveSounds fascinating: Timberlake fuses a clear musical vision with a theatricality endemic to a show biz kid. ' Until the End of Time ' is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake from his second studio album, FutureSex/LoveSounds (2006), written and produced by Timberlake, Timbaland, and Nate 'Danja' Hills. The song was later re-recorded as a duet featuring American singer Beyoncé, which was released as a single on November 13, 2007 and included on the Deluxe Edition of the album. [2] [3] It reached the top 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100, being the sixth single from the album to do so, with Timberlake becoming the only male artist in the decade to achieve this. [4] During the concert tour FutureSex/LoveShow, Timberlake performed the song as a piano solo. [5] 6 Charts. Composition [ edit ] 'Until the End of Time' is a quiet storm ballad, R&Bslow jam. [1] [6] [7] The song utilizes Linn drums, which Ben Williams of New York compared to Prince's 'The Beautiful Ones'. [8] Critical reception [ edit ] In his review for Entertainment Weekly , Michael Slezak opined the single 'sounds like another smash. The original flavor was already a treat —a stripped-down slow jam with a gorgeously simple melody.' [9] For Complex , Tannis Spencer wrote, 'Justin and Beyonce got nice and comfy on this ballad and complement each from start to finish. The beat is slow with an accompanying string section that serves as the perfect backdrop for when Justin hits his high notes. The record has a sultry sound which helps offset the super futuristic sound on the rest of the album.' [10] Billboard editor Adelle Platon described it as a 'dreamy love song.' [11] Quentin B. Huff of PopMatters wrote that 'Until the End of Time' is heavily reminiscent of Prince's work, adding 'both songs (with 'Sexy Ladies') are album highlights, but they don't seem to strive for the same level of innovation as other songs in the set.' [12] Sputnikmusic's Amanda Murray called the song 'excessively bland.' [13] Chart performance [ edit ] In the United States, the solo version of 'Until the End of Time' entered the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the chart issued October 20, 2007, making him the first solo male artist that decade to spawn six top 40 singles from the same album. The previous male soloist to achieve that feat was Michael Jackson with Dangerous , which generated seven top 40 Hot 100 entries during 1991-1993. The previous album overall to do so was Shania Twain's Come On Over , which had six top 40 singles during 1997-1999. The same week, the song entered the top five on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. [14] Eventually, the duet version became Timberlake's 17th and Beyoncé's 21st career top 20 song on the Hot 100. The song also became the sixth US top 20 entry from the album and Timberlake became the first to do that since Michael Jackson in 1991. [10] It also became Beyoncé's highest charting single on US Adult R&B radio peaking at number 2, until 'Love On Top' in 2012. [15] Mirrors Justin Timberlake Download Mp3 Juice. Opinions still vary as to how much (if at all) the sub and center channels are utilized. There are no standards on delivery formats (audio files on hard drives, CD-Rs or DVD-Rs; Genex MO; DA-88 or 98HR tapes; or 8-track 1- or 2-inch analog) or even how the monitor speakers should be set up in the control room (ITU standard or quad equidistant). Surround signal processing and methods differ significantly from stereo with a general consensus emerging: For surround sound mixing, with higher resolution and six channels to play music over, there is less need to process individual tracks or the mix buses like stereo, so everything fits down a 2-channel pipe. As liberating as this might seem, this quantum leap in sonics and mixing options is not without caveats: Each individual track's sound quality; the cohesiveness and detail of the overall mix; reverb and delay setup and use, and the quality assurance of the final encoding process are critical for the best surround sound.

Introduction To the Lighthouse I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU about a theory I’ve developed, in the past two years or so, about a certain brand of people I like to call “lighthouses.” This theory was developed after years spent in the company of one such member of the species, carefully observed in her natural habitat. She was the prototype, basically. Her name is Rylee and she’s my best friend. You might as well know that now because she’s going to come up a lot. Rylee, since the time I met her seven years ago, has dated nine people. This is probably not remarkably high. It could even be average. What do I know? It could be that that number only seems large in comparison to my own figures, which are so low they’re practically negative. But what’s really crazy, what’s really impressive about it, is her lack of time off between boyfriends. When she’s single, Rylee hardly needs to leave the apartment (or, in some of those cases, dormitory building) before anywhere from one to four different guys profess an interest in being her next boyfriend.

  • Recording Engineer Jimmy Douglass and Jbl Professional Lsr4300 Series Studio Monitors Make Beautiful Music Together
WINTER NAMM BOOTH #7800 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Travis McGee, Griffin Public Relations & Marketing (212) 481-3456 Ext. 24 [email protected] RECORDING ENGINEER JIMMY DOUGLASS AND JBL PROFESSIONAL LSR4300 SERIES STUDIO MONITORS MAKE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC TOGETHER ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, January 17, 2008 —Renowned recording engineer Jimmy Douglass, whose credits range from the Rolling Stones to Foreigner to Jay-Z, has enjoyed continued success mixing Justin Timberlake’s blockbuster FutureSex/LoveSounds album and Duran Duran’s Red Carpet Massacre. Both albums were mixed using JBL Professional LSR4300 Series studio monitors, which Douglass purchased while mixing the Timberlake release. Having started at Atlantic Records in what he calls the “magic days” of music recording, Douglass was called on for projects with the Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, the Young Rascals and other top artists of the day. Today, Douglass is at the top of his game as first-call engineer for Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Jay- Z, Matisyahu and Rob Thomas. The diversity of his credits is a testament to Jimmy’s versatility as an engineer. This versatility is also seen in Douglass’s willingness to embrace cutting-edge technology. “Recording technology has changed dramatically over the years, and I‘ve found myself changing with it,” Douglass said. “My attitude has always been, if there’s new technology available, I want to be able to use it. I watched digital technology come in one piece at a time.” Recording engineer Jimmy Douglass has recently used JBL LSR4300 Series studio monitors to mix Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds and Duran Duran’s Red Carpet Massacre.
