This was that poor boricua family that stored rice & beans in “I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter” containers.The kind of family that blasted Jerry Rivera’s & Frankie Ruiz voices over dollar-store speakers. The kind that prized Marc Anthony, Hector LaVoe, El Gran Combo, La India, Tito Rojas. Victor Manuelle. Salsa Legends that put abuela's feet to work. My cousin Nina & her wife Iris who sparked their Ls in the bathroom, waving around floor length box braids, and bomb ass butch-queen aesthetics. “Pero nino, you hoppin on the cyph?. Uncle Negro or “Black”as we called him for his rich dark-skin, stay trying to wife my mom’s friends. 7:11 pm. 7 pounds 8 oz. October 27th. Maybe it was the lucky 7. Maybe it was fated for them to welcome another, intensely-loving Scorpio into their home. Or maybe it was just another blissful evening in the barrio. Where Bottles of Henny would be popped, and cousins & aunts & uncles you didn’t even know you had would reappear. -

The ass (w)hole) ± wholeness, hol(e)y-ness. the seat of the soul. the funky black ass.3 the black ass (is a) (as a) drum. The ass is a highlycontested and deeplyambivalent site/sight . It maybe a nexus, even, for the unfolding of contemporaryculture and politics. It becomes useful to think about the ass in terms of metaphor ± the ass, and the asshole, as the ``dirty'' (open) secret, the entrance and the exit, the back door of cultural and sexual politics. -

Moderated by Sylvia Massy, (Prince, Johnny Cash, Sublime) and featuring panelists Joe Barresi (Bad Religion, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool), Jimmy Douglass (Justin Timberlake, Jay Z, John Legend), Nathaniel Kunkel (Lyle Lovett, Everclear, James Taylor) and others, this event is sure to be lively, fun, and inspirational.. 20 Fluff March 29, 2005 TEH DECEIVAR Ill–legitimate Music Review Mr. Bungle Rowen Frazier Retriever Staff Writer This album is a stroke of genius. Michael Patton is one of the most creative musicians/producers of California all time, without question. California is a frenzy of tempo changes, tonal center shifts, random samples and noises, all strategically placed throughout the composition. The album spawned a new genre, in stores now “kitchen sink”, which can now be found in other examples such as Tortoise, RJD2, Matmos, and Reflection Through the Z-Axis. Warner Brothers Patton has gone on to create music with some potent notables such as Trey Anastasio from Phish, Les Claypool and Brain from Primus, Aaron Weldernais Rating (out of 10) 8.8 from Trophy Bass, Delsh McBranderbraun from Ancient Pistol Plaza...the list goes on, fellows. Listen, I don’t have anything else to say here. Listen.
