Nineteen local Valley teachers were honored by the Encino Chamber of Commerce and its members at the Chamber’s 25th Annual Teacher of the Year Awards Dinner held at the Hilton Woodland Hills. Of the 19 honorees, 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher, Ms. Irma Ramirez from Patrick Henry Middle School, was chosen to be the 2018-2019 Outstanding Teacher of the Year. “One of the reasons Ms. Ramirez was chosen Outstanding Teacher of the Year was for her ability to connect with her students in a variety of ways, including making history ‘come alive’ for everyone who enters her classroom,” according to Encino Chamber CEO Diana Dueñas. “This event is probably the most important event the Encino Chamber does as we show appreciation to the people who have the biggest influence in making our world a better place by shaping our children, our future leaders.”
