NINE Book by ARTHUR KOPIT Music and Lyrics by MAURY YESTON Adapted from the Italian by MARIO FRATTI Based on Fellini’s 8½

MARCH 28 & 29, 2015 ILLSLEY BALL NORDSTROM RECITAL HALL AT BENAROYA HALL 200 University Street, Seattle, WA 98111 Director’s Note

Before I start... let me just say that Jose Gonzales and Christian West are fabulous as Guido Contini and Young Guido... that said...

In the world of musical theatre where 75% of the casting is focused on male characters, it is such a pleasure to be able to present a musical treasure like NINE, where 10 of the 12 characters are strong, capable, charismatic women. NINE For that reason, Maury Yeston’s brilliant score and lyrics are truly unique with female voices being the structure of the show. But as amazing as Yeston’s songs Book by ARTHUR KOPIT are, what makes the show unforgettable, are the performances... and this all-star Music and Lyrics by MAURY YESTON cast of exceptionally talented actors and singers will show you why. Adapted from the Italian by MARIO FRATTI

It’s been over 30 years since a production of NINE has been produced in Seattle. Based on Fellini’s 8½ High time we got to hear this show again! Thank you Showtunes! NINE is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.

So sit back... turn back the clock to 1963... and imagine yourself in beautiful THE CAST Venice, Italy... Grazie!
