DONG You can usually find Jasmine performing in the CSN Chamber Chorale, where she met and fell in love with her husband Adam Schaefer. Together they continue to sing sporadically throughout the semesters for sentimental reasons, making the CSN choir a special 2nd family of theirs. She danced her way through college cheerleading, dramatically sang Game of Thrones at MGM Grand, occasionally portrays an apple thief in the traditional CSN Madrigal dinners, and flash mobbed for Hugh Jackman’s Greatest Showman CinemaCon surprise. She would especially like to thank her mom, husband, Dr. Wherry, Voltaire Verzosa, the CSN Chamber Chorale, her beloved gondolier famiglia, and her family for giving her the courage to share her talents outside of school. She is extremely excited to make her debut in community theatre with Holiday Follies!!! ADRIANA FORMISANO Some of Adriana’s favorite past roles include Snow White in Into the Woods, Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie, and Clarissa in Little Women. Her last project with Super Summer Theatre was as the wig technician for Hynes-Sight Entertainment’s The Wedding Singer. She is absolutely thrilled to be a part of Holiday Follies with her friends and to have made such talented friends along the way. She wants to thank her family and friends for their constant love and support. GABRIELLA GIOCOMO Gabriella kicked off 2018 at SST Studios backstage at A Baby Boomer’s Toast to Broadway, and she’s so happy to be ending the year onstage with friends and family. Her most recent project was a turn in the director’s chair for Broadway in Blue: A Musical Revue at Valhalla on Lake Tahoe’s south shore. Gaby is also a playwright whose work has been seen in Vegas, Tahoe, and Chicago; she is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild. SHYRA HARTLEY Shyra is excited to be singing and dancing onstage for Holiday Follies. With this being her very first show, it is a completely new experience that has allowed her to learn and grow as a performer. She would like to thank Joy Demain for believing in her and encouraging her to audition, and Pat Demain for taking the time to prepare her for the audition. She also thanks the Giocomos for allowing her to be part of the show! GARY GIOCOMO, Director Gary was a Principal Singer in Donn Arden’s Jubilee for 7 years, as well as Hello Hollywood Hello in Reno for 4 years. He has been a professional Director/Cho- reographer, Singer, Dancer, & Actor for the past 50+ years, starting his career on Broadway at 16 years old in Bye Bye Birdie. Student Matinee Series Maurice Hines is Tappin’ Thru Life Study Guide Created by Miller Grove High School Drama Class of Joyce Scott As part of the Alliance Theatre Institute for Educators and Teaching Artists’ Dramaturgy by Students Under the guidance of Teaching Artist Barry Stewart Mann Maurice Hines is Tappin’ Thru Life was produced at the Arena Theatre in Washington, DC, from Nov. 15 to Dec. 29, 2013 The Alliance Theatre Production runs from April 2 to May 4, 2014 The production will travel to Beverly Hills, California from May 9-24, 2014, and to the Cleveland Playhouse from May 30 to June 29, 2014. Reviews Keith Loria, on theatermania.com, called the show “a tender glimpse into the Hineses’ rise to fame and a touching tribute to a brother.” Benjamin Tomchik wrote in Broadway World, that the show “seems determined not only to love the audience, but to entertain them, and it succeeds at doing just that! While Tappin' Thru Life does have some flaws, it's hard to find anyone who isn't won over by Hines showmanship, humor, timing and above all else, talent.” In The Washington Post, Nelson Pressley wrote, “’Tappin’ is basically a breezy, personable concert. The show doesn’t flinch from hard-core nostalgia; the heart-on-his-sleeve Hines is too sentimental for that. It’s frankly schmaltzy, and it’s barely written — it zips through selected moments of Hines’s life, creating a mood more than telling a story. it’s a pleasure to be in the company of a shameless, ebullient vaudeville heart.” Maurice Hines Is .

One of those started several years ago when I stumbled across a recording of Only Heaven, a set of songs for soprano by Ricky Ian Gordon to text of Langston Hughes. Intrigued – we sang Ricky’s Love, My Sweet Rain a few years ago. I adore the poetry of Langston Hughes and I fell madly in love with the music. It sang to me of optimism, of people living their lives unfettered by the restrictions of society.
