Prolific Producer Greg Berlanti Joins PromaxBDA: The Conference 2015

Writer, producer and director Greg Berlanti is joining PromaxBDA: The Conference 2015 as a keynote speaker, the association said Tuesday. Lisa Gregorian, president and chief marketing officer of Warner Bros. Television Group and former co-chair of the PromaxBDA board of directors, will interview Berlanti about his prolific career as a creator of television and movies on Tuesday, June 9.

"I love telling stories," said Berlanti. "Creating a character, a world, a whole universe out of nothing. That part I can't get enough of."

That's good, because Berlanti will certainly be telling a lot of stories this fall. The broadcast networks picked up three new shows from Berlanti - NBC's Blindspot, CBS' Supergirl and The CW's DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Those shows join three Berlanti series that are already on the air: The CW's Arrow and The Flash and NBC's The Mysteries of Laura, bringing Berlanti's total to six.

In addition, Berlanti is working on a feature film, Pan, that's an origin story about Peter Pan and Captain Hook. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Amanda Seyfried, and Levi Miller as Peter Pan, and is directed by Joe Wright. Prior to this, the Writers Guild, Directors Guild and Globe Globe Award winner has worked on many of TV's most beloved series, including The WB's Dawson's Creek, Everwood and Jack & Bobby. He's also produced and written for such series as ABC's Brothers & Sisters, Eli Stone and Dirty, Sexy Money and USA's Political Animals, as well as motion pictures Life As We Know It and The Broken Hearts Club.

Berlanti joins a speaker lineup that includes Doug Herzog, president of the Viacom Entertainment and Music Group; Grammy-nominated comedian Tig Notaro; book cover designer Chip Kidd; veteran cable executive Lauren Zalaznik; digital and gaming executive Chris DeWolfe; author Frans Johansson and designer Scott Thomas.

PromaxBDA: The Conference takes place June 9-11 at the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.
