JOE GUTHRIE Music Supervisor FILM CREDITS JOE GUTHRIE Music Supervisor Joe Guthrie grew up listening to old Willie Nelson, Led Zeppelin and Johnny Cash records with his dad in rural Texas. At a young age he was struck by the powerful force of music in film. He remembers walking to the theater as a kid to see films like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Platoon and Chariots of Fire. As a young, classical pianist he would rush to get the scores, so, he could recreate the music at home on the piano. In 1999, Joe moved to Los Angeles and immediately began working on his first film, The Broken Heart’s CluB (Sony Pictures.) Combining his two passions as a classical pianist and his natural ability to serve a client’s music needs, he realized he could make this a career path and that there was value in this obsession in the role of a music supervisor. To date, he’s supervised music for over 200 episodes of broadcast television on networks including ABC, The WB, and The CW . Joe has handled a wide array of creative, logistical & clearance needs for 9 feature films for studios such as Touchstone, Sony, 20th Century Fox, Sundance and Warner Brothers. Over the years he’s built enduring relationships through his ability to consistently deliver on time and within budgets that are often limited. Joe’s most recent work includes the Fox series Filthy Rich for Tate Taylor & John Norris and the feature film Breaking News in YuBa County.
