SIZE: 496 photographs (Nos. 7194 through 7698 in Marshall Photo Collection) BIOGRAP~ICAL/HISTORICAL FEATURES: Col. Beverly Read, 1941 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, participated in Philippine Campaign with 24th Infantry Division, decor ated with Air Medal. In Korean War he served as commander, 1st Btn, 17th Infantry Division, and subsequently executive officer of the 17th Regi ment, receiving Silver Star, Bronze Star with "V" device, and Colombian Combat Infantry Badge. Also received Distinguished Service Cross for valor & heroism in Korea.
