100TH ANNIVERSARY OF FOOTBALL AT WEBER STATE This year marks the 100th anniversary of football at . The first football team was fielded in 1919, when the school was known as Weber Normal College. Weber’s first game was played on Oct. 8, 1919, a 20-0 loss to Box Elder High School in Brigham City. The first win was on Oct. 31, 1919, a 6-0 win over Davis High School in Ogden. Over the last 100 years, thousands of players have played football for the Wildcats. Weber State became a junior college in 1933, then became a four-year school in 1962. In 1963, the Wildcats became a charter member of the Big Sky Conference, joining Idaho, Weber State in the national polls Idaho State, Montana, and Montana State as football playing schools. The Wildcats have captured six Big Sky Conference titles, including winning back-to- back titles in 2017 and 2018. KENNESAW STATE ABOUT KENNESAW STATE Kennesaw State enters Saturday’s game with an 11-2 overall record and is ranked ninth in the nation in the AFCA coaches poll and 15th in the STATS poll. The Owls finished second in the Big South Conference with a 5-1 record. KSU is 6-1 on the road this season and has won 10 straight true road games against FCS opponents. Kennesaw State has advanced to the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs in each of the last two seasons. The Owls were 12-2 in 2017 and 11-2 last season. They lost to South Dakota State in the quarterfinals last year and finished the season ranked fifth in the country. Kennesaw State is 4-2 all-time in the FCS Playoffs and has won at least one game in three straight seasons. The Owls lead the nation in rushing offense, averaging 346.8 rushing yards per game, and have a national best 57 rushing touchdowns. Kennesaw State is third nationally in sacks allowed (5), fourth in total defense (278.1), fifth in scoring average (39.2), seventh in turnover margin (+11), and ninth in scoring defense (18.2). Junior linebacker Bryson Armstrong was named the Big South Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He was joined on the all-conference first team by de- fensive lineman Desmond Johnson Jr., and offensive linemen Jake Lassiter and Chris Dye. Kennesaw State is in just its fifth season of football after starting the program in 2015.

HEAD COACH BRIAN BOHANNON Kennesaw State is coached by Brian Bohannon who is fifth season as head coach of the Owls. He enters Saturday’s game with a 48-14 overall record. He is a two-time Big South Coach of the Year and was the National Coach of the Year in 2017. He is the first head coach in Kennesaw State history and has led the Owls to at least 11 wins in each of the last three seasons.

SERIES HISTORY This is the first ever meeting between Weber State and Kennesaw State. It’s also WSU’s first ever game against a school from the Big South Confer- ence. This is just the second game ever for Kennesaw State against a Big Sky opponent. The Owls traveled to Bozeman in November 2015 and beat Montana State 16-14.

Jay Hill is in his sixth season as the head coach at Weber State. In addition to his duties as head Hill Profile coach, Hill is Hill’s third season also serving as the defensive coordinator for the Wildcats.
