F utening.-The equipment may be f astened to the shelter by lag screws, u.ggle bolts, or bolts and nuts. The lag screws an!! easiest to install a.nd remove. LIIg scn!!ws, bolts, or 10ggIe bolts should have a body dimension of '18 or % inch. 4. I nat AllAtion.---(I. F04~d eguipment........ The following pro cedure is used for hstenillg equipment to the ~helte r by either lag screws., bolts and nuts, or toggle bolts: (1) a,e ollllg .crete, (preferred means).-(a) Drill el098·fitting cl earnn~ holes in the bases of tlte equipment to be fa stened down in the lOCAtions shown in figuro 38 or 39. U9& II. bMloe a.nd auger bit (wood) or a twist drill. (6) Locate Ole equi pment to be Illlltenoo down in the positiOIll indicated in figure 38 or 39. (c) Drill lead holes in the shelter Hoor, using the clearance hOlll9 previously drilled in the bases of the equipment all a guide. Use a hf,.Ild drill or electric drill with II. o/t,-inch twist drill for %,-inch lag IICl"8ws, or n %-inch twist drill for %-inch lag /iCrew&. (d) I nstall Ha t wasbeT3 and lockwashen; under thiliag screw headll to provide additional bearing area and to prevent loosening. A suf ficient numbeeof spacing washers should be installed under the acre" heads when required, 8(l that the lag screws will project approxi mately % to % inch tllrough the shelter floor. (c) After elevating the shelter, ~heek the lecation of thll equip ment to be certain that it hilS not moved. SET TC-2 0' (d) Drill bolt clenrance holes in the locations specified in figure 38 or 39. Use R twist drill for mnking these hole ~. (e) Inst.u.ll sufficient flat wnshers under the bolt heads so that the holts will not. project below the hottom of the shelter skids; then in >iCI·t the holts in the elearance holes. Install flat washers, lock washere, and nutll.. Tighten the nuts, using wrenehes on both the nuts o.nd the bolt heads. (I) Lower the shelter to the ground or relocate it. in the body of the truck. (3) U,e of togg~ bolt".-(a) Arnnge the equipment to be fastened in accordanee with the dimensions shown in figure 38 or 39.
