WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH RUSH SEATING?

The “all-rush” process can seem intimidating – especially for new PortFringe audience members; There is no way for PortFringe to predict final attendance for any given event and there will be sold-out however, this does not need to be the case! At times tragic, at times hilarious, the ongoing battle between these two characters, both fighting to be heard in an ever hostile world, is a play audiences of all ages can relate to. Actor (LOST, CRIMINAL MINDS), and Playwright Victoria Goring is developed this play through 2 Artist in residencies in conjunction with her photographic exhibit: Trashed at San Gabriel National Monument and Hot Springs National Park. The set, costumes, and props are all handcrafted art created from recycled materials. Ms. Goring is concerned that Issues of poverty, women’s rights, and environmental impact are degraded by the current political systems, causing a need for dialogue. A MESSAGE FROM THE CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF FRINGE FESTIVALS PORTFRINGE IS PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF THE FOLLOWING GLOBAL FRINGE FESTIVAL On behalf of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals (CAFF), welcome to MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATIONS: the adventure that is Fringe. CAFF is comprised of 33 member festivals across North America with a mission to foster independent artistic exploration for artists and audiences alike. The Fringe is truly a feast for the artistically curious.

This past November CAFF played host to the World Fringe Congress, which gave us a chance to show off our ‘Made in Canada’ model of Fringing. Over 53 international festivals participated and festival organizers marveled at CAFF’s accessible and inclusive model that returns 100% of the ticket price back to artists (minus taxes and fees). This year the Edinburgh Fringe celebrates its 70th anniversary and the global Fringe family celebrates with you!
