Best Book Awards Best Book Awards With a view to encourage excellence, Best Book Awards were instituted by the Academy in the year 1964. Initially the Award was divided into two categories namely; First & Second Award carrying the prize money of Rs 1OOO/- and Rs 700/- respectively in each language. Presently, the prize money attached with this Award is Rs 1,00,000/- per book in each language. The Best Book award is being given in nine languages including English. LIST OF AWARDEES A.
