We are pleased to share with you this Stallion Directory and all the benefits that come with choosing to breed in New York State. This time of year we are filled with anticipation of the coming months— deciding on the perfect mating, seeing the foals born we have anxiously awaited, and receiving early training reports on the next crop. There is no better place to do this than the Empire State. The New York Sires Stakes program is the oldest in North America with a long history of producing outstanding horses and providing exceptional value to breeders. Breeders who choose New York not only have the backing of a strong state-bred program when marketing their yearlings, but those with resident mares have the potential for Breeders Award earnings when their youngsters perform well on the track. More than $14.3 million was paid out in stakes purses and $1.1 million in breeders awards last year. Combine that earning potential with a roster of eligible stallions who produce nationally competitive offspring and breeding in New York makes strong dollars and sense. Enjoy exploring all New York has to offer and we wish you all the best in your breeding and racing endeavors this year. M.
