• Port is pursuing DEAAG in support of a multi-component project at Kelly Field in collaboration with San Antonio (JBSA) and the Department of Defense (DoD).

• Project components include new construction of an Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and an Airfield Operations Complex, and renovation of existing buildings to improve JBSA unity of command and provide capacity for additional military flying missions.

• These improvements will significantly improve JBSA span of control through consolidation of critical airfield operations personnel.

• Building renovation will include the installation of fire suppression systems in two historic hangars, which will help meet demand of existing flying units and strengthen the military presence in San Antonio by providing capacity for expansion of related missions at Kelly Field.

• This project is part of a broader and ongoing, comprehensive “P4” initiative between and JBSA to expand and fortify Kelly Field as a strategic military asset for both the nation and the state of .
