Cable ONE has doubled down on faster Internet speeds in its NewWave Communications footprint, increasing customer speeds twofold as the company prepares to launch its gigabit Internet offering in those markets. The operator, which acquired NewWave systems last year, said customers in those markets now have access to downstream Internet speeds up to 200 Mbps. Cable ONE is also gearing up to launch 1 Gbps service in its NewWave footprint, which includes areas of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas. Shentel Increases Speed To Next Tier For Internet Customers
Shentel upgraded its Internet customers with 15Mbps speed or higher to the next speed tier at no additional cost to them. The move took place in February and, in recent days, the company has received positive feedback about the decision to upgrade. Shentel also took this opportunity to introduce a new top speed, 150Mbps, for customers in Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland. Mediacom: Subs Flocking To 1 Gig Speeds
Who knew 1 Gig services might turn out to be popular even when priced fairly high? Mediacom certainly didn't. In a pleasant surprise, the cable operator is enjoying strong early subscriber interest in its new 1 Gig service powered by DOCSIS 3.1 over HFC lines. Fidelity Communications, a growing regional cable operator Sullivan, Mo., is giving small- to medium-sized business (SMB) customers another reason to choose the cable MSO by providing a speed upgrade to 75/10 Mbps. Existing and new business customers will be able to get the higher-speed service for no additional cost or having to extend a service contract. TDS Improvements Continue With Launch Of 600 Mbps Tier
TDS broadband network improvements have enabled a new 600 Mbps broadband tier, now available in several markets across four states, the company has announced. The markets are located in Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah and include St. George, Utah and Fort Collins, Colorado.
