Message from Lok Sabha The Food Safety and Standards Bill, 2006 Secretary-General reported to the House the following Message received from Lok Sabha, signed by the Secretary-General of Lok Sabha:- “In accordance with the provisions of rule 96 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha, I am directed to enclose the Food Safety and Standards Bill, 2006, as passed by Lok Sabha at its sitting held on the 26th July, 2006.” 5. Report of the Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology Shri Vijay J. Darda laid on the Table a copy (in English and Hindi) of the Thirty- fourth Report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology on “The Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Bill, 2006.” 7. Report on the Indian Parliamentary Participation at International Conference Secretary-General laid on the Table a copy (in English and Hindi) of the Report on the participation of the Indian Parliamentary Delegation in the Fifty-first Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference held at Nadi, Fiji, from 1st to 10th September, 2005. 12:03 p.m. 8. Recommendations of the Business Advisory Committee The Chairman informed Members that the Business Advisory Committee in its meeting held on Friday, the 28th July, 2006, has allotted three hours each for consideration and passing of:— (i) The Actuaries Bill, 2005, after it has been passed by Lok Sabha; (ii) The Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Amendment Bill, 2005, after it has been passed by Lok Sabha; (iii) The Wildlife (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2005; and (iv) The Right to Information (Amendment) Bill, 2006. 2. The Committee has also recommended that the sittings of Rajya Sabha fixed for Monday, the 28th August, Tuesday, the 29th August and Wednesday, the 30th August, 2006, during the current session, be cancelled. 3. The Committee has further recommended that in order to complete the Government Legislative and other business, the House may sit up to 6-00 p.m. and beyond, each day, during the remaining part of the current Session”. Motion for Election to the Court of the Aligarh Muslim University A motion for election of one member to the Court of the Aligarh Muslim University was moved and adopted. 12:05 p.m. 10. The Rajiv Gandhi University Bill, 2006 Shri Arjun Singh (Minister of Human Resource Development) moved for leave to introduce a Bill to establish and incorporate a teaching and affiliating University in the State of Arunachal Pradesh and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Shri Arjun Singh introduced the Bill. 1:02 p.m. IV. The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order Amendment Bill, 2006 Shri P.R. Kyndiah (Minister of Tribal Affairs and Minister of Development of North Eastern Region) moved for leave to introduce a Bill further to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950 to modify the list of Scheduled Tribes in the State of Bihar.
