3.3.2.8 Kyu Grade examination Kata selection Examinations for Kyu grades shall be divided into demonstrations of pre-selected techniques and performed with Reiho. The kata selection recommended for all Kyu Grade examinations is determined to show that the student has adequately progressed through all stages of their training at the level being examined and shows improvement on previous techniques. The National Grading Examination for Kyu Grades is aligned to the following kata requirements:
