The species described here are a con- tinuation of our studies of Philippine orchid species.

Growth habit: upright, sympodi- al, . Pseudobulbs: cylindrical, slightly fl at- tened, from 3 to 5 cm long by 7 mm wide; new pseudobulbs are covered by a large papery sheath; unifoliate. Leaves: thinly-textured, broadly ovate, apex acute; new leaves are heavi- ly veined with purple. Petiole chan- nelled, from 1.5 to 2.5 cm long; leaf blade from 9 cm to 12 cm long by from 4 to 6 cm wide. Infl orescence: appear- ing from the base of the pseudobulb, to 2 cm long, bearing 1 or 2 large fl ow- ers. Flower colour: on the dorsal sepal

Mindanao. It grows as an epiphyte, in mossy forest, in shady locations at el- evations of 1,200 metres. This species is a member of section Pahudia Schltr. Comparison: Bulbophyllum hampeliae is related to Bulbophyllum virescens J.J.Sm., but differs in the much shorter length of the infl orescence; the one or two-fl owered infl orescence; the small- er fl owers and the smaller ; and the very differently coloured blooms. Etymology: It is our great pleasure to name this magnifi cent species for Mrs. Charisma Hampel, a most gracious hostess, whenever we visit their nurs- ery.

Growth habit: upright, sympodial, ep- iphyte. Pseudobulbs: minute; clus- tered; surrounded by persistent hairs; unifoliate. Leaves: petiolate: petiole 5 mm long, channelled; leaf blade, oblanceolate, apex unequally bilobed, to 6 cm long by 2 cm wide. Infl ores- cence: upright; 8.5 cm long, appearing from the base of the pseudobulb; ra- chis nodding, 3 cm long bearing about 16 tiny fl owers. Flower colour: base colour is pink heavily marked with Dendrobium butchcamposii deep red; labellum is golden-brown.
