However, were combined to generate andesitic long-distance dikes studying the physical and chemical properties of active fissure systems is difficult. Hence, this study investi- gates the movement of magma away from the Mull volcano in the North Atlantic Igneous Province, where Supporting Information: erosion has exposed its upper crustal dike networks. Magmatic lineations within dikes indicate that the Supporting Information S1 magma flow in the Mull dike suite changed from near vertical to horizontal within 30 km of the volcanic Table S1 center. This implies that distal dikes were fed by lateral magma transport from Mull. -
Section 2 of the First Railway on the Island of Gran Canaria
SECTION 2 OF THE FIRST RAILWAY ON THE ISLAND OF GRAN CANARIA A challenge in underground engineering SENER is writing for Gran Canaria Railways (FGC) the Basic and Constructive Project of the second section of the line between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Maspalomas. This line, also designed in general terms by SENER also in joint venture with the insular La Roche Consulting company, is the first railway on the island with a planned investment of more than 1,300 million euros. The line runs along the eastern side of the island where the demographic and economic power are greater. It has a total length of 60 km and 9 stations among them we should bring out the three located in Las Palmas, the one at the airport, and the one on the main tourist area of the island, south of the line. The travel time is due to last 35 minutes. The section 2 whose project has been awarded for an amount of 1,620,165, 18 euros, is the most complex of the 7 in which the FGC has divided the bidding. It consists of 9 km in length which run entirely underground, 5 of them under the island’s capital. The section runs between San Telmo Station, main bus station in the city and future intermodal station, and Jinámar and it has another intermediate station: Hospitales. This station is key because it gives access to the largest hospital complex on the island. The excavation of the tunnel will be done through a boring machine in their first Client: Ferrocarriles de Gran 3 km and the other conventional means. -

La participación y aceptación de toda esta información por parte de los senderistas y personas que participan de las actividades programadas, conlleva una “declaración responsable” y un “consentimiento informado” donde el participante acude voluntariamente y asume que las actividades en la naturaleza no están exentas de un cierto riesgo, que cada participante se halla en las condiciones psicofísicas necesarias, que no padece limitaciones físicas o psíquicas, que se compromete a seguir las órdenes e instrucciones de los monitores o guías, y que se compromete a no estar bajo los efectos de sustancias y/o drogas que pongan en peligro su integridad física o la de las demás personas participantes. Para poder participar en las Actividades de Senderismo que organiza el CEPA Santa Lucía de Tirajana hay que estar en posición de la Licencia de Senderista, una vez abonado el seguro que tiene contratado la Federación de Montaña de Las Palmas. Para inscribirse en las Caminatas, una vez entregada la documentación de la Licencia, se te incluye en un grupo de difusión de WhatsApp. Dos semanas antes de cada salida, recibirás un mensaje con la información, debiendo abonar los 8 euros en los tres primeros días de la semana siguiente. Accepted 12 September 2013 The Palaeogene Ardnamurchan central igneous complex, NW Scotland, was a defining place for the Published development of the classic concepts of cone-sheet and ring-dyke emplacement and has thus fundamentally 8 October 2013 influenced our thinking on subvolcanic structures. We have used the available structural information on Ardnamurchan to project the underlying three-dimensional (3D) cone-sheet structure. Here we show that a single elongate magma chamber likely acted as the source of the cone-sheet swarm(s) instead of the traditionally accepted model of three successive centres. This proposal is supported by the ridge-like Correspondence and morphology of the Ardnamurchan volcano and is consistent with the depth and elongation of the gravity requests for materials anomaly underlying the peninsula. Our model challenges the traditional model of cone-sheet emplacement should be addressed to at Ardnamurchan that involves successive but independent centres in favour of a more dynamical one that S.B. (Steffi.Burchardt@ involves a single, but elongate and progressively evolving magma chamber system. -

Gran Canaria After a bus ride to Santa Cruz, a ferry ride to Puerto de las Nieves and another bus ride, we arrived in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Gran Canaria is second to Tenerife in terms of population, most of the people reside in Las Plama, in the northeast corner of the relatively round island. Similar to Tenerife, Gran Canaria experienced several episodes of volcanism. An initial alkali basaltic shield volcanoe (“Old Cycle”) developed very quickly between 14.5 and 14.1 Ma. This was followed by extrusion of large quantities of silicic lava that produced ignimbrites during and following a collapse that produced the Caldera de Tejeda between 14.1 and 13 Ma. This structure is about 20 kms in diameter but only sections of the caldera margin are exposed today. After this, around 13 Ma, there was resurgence of volcanism and a stratovolcano develped in the caldera. Lava flows and ignimbrites emitted from 12.6 to 9 Ma consisted of trachytes and phonolites (silica undersaturated). A related syenite stock and cone sheet dikes formed below the Caldera between 12.3 and 7.3 Ma, resulting in as much as 1,400 meters of uplift in the central zone. A later phase (“Roque Nublo cycle”) took place from 5.6 to 2.9 Ma, after a 3 million year quiescence, and produced less material. The phase started with alkali basaltic to phonolite eruptions (NW-SE fissure), possibly strombolian-type, that created a stratovolcano in the central island. The phase ended with more violent eruptions that generated pyroclastic flows and large quantities of unwelded ignimbrite, the Roque Nublo breccias.
